At the end of May I was lucky enough to spend a week enjoying the sunshine in The Maldives. This is one of the most idyllic locations in the world!
🏝️Beautiful accommodation, spectacular setting
🥂Top class service alongside delicious food & drinks
🐠Some resorts have their own house reefs and the snorkelling is by far some of the best I have encountered on my many travels.
🐬Great wildlife spotting too, again it depends on the resort but we were lucky to find dolphins and snorkel with rays, sharks & turtles

Nashville aka Music City has been on my wish list for years and a hosted trip by the Nashville Tourist Board, BA & American Airlines gave me the opportunity to visit recently.

It is home to some of the most famous and well-respected music venues in the world, including Studio B, Ryman Auditorium and the home of country music, the Grand Ole Opry. There is music to suit every taste (it isn't all country) and with an abundance of roof top bars & live music venues it makes for one fun city!!

Sri Lanka Part 3 - South Coast Beaches
💫
The laid back vibes of the south coast are the perfect way to spend some time chilling at the end of an active couple of weeks. Highlights in this area for me were the Blue whales in Mirissa, turtle spotting in Unuwatuna and the historic centre of Galle. I will definitely go back to this part of Sri Lanka, its very special as it has managed to retain a lot of its local authentic charm. Great end to an amazing 17 nights in Sri Lanka!

Sri Lanka Part 2 - Hills, Tea Plantations and jungle

My second week was spent at a leisurely pace exploring the tea plantations and the highest points of Sri Lanka (also taking in one of the most scenic train journeys in the world) before going on to Yala National Park to search for the elusive leopard - yes I did see one!
Definitely a more relaxed vibe in this part of the country and the slightly cooler temperatures were very welcome.

Sri Lanka Part 1 - Cultural Triangle

I had an incredible time during my time in Sri Lanka, the first week was spent visiting the Cultural triangle in the centre of the island, UNESCO world heritage sites, stunning scenery, national parks, wildlife and incredible people & food enroute! For those that want to visit a country with amazing heritage and history I highly recommend spending some time in this area, so much to see and do!

Our annual Travel Counsellors was back with a bang last week as we went “ALL IN”. 3 years since our last Irish Conference, it was great to meet up with fellow TC’s, our amazing head office ladies as well as suppliers from across the Globe and our travel trade support. What a community!

It was so lovely to attend this amazing event and I am delighted to have received an award for “Best Business Growth”.
I have worked so hard on behalf of all my clients over the last few years through the tough times and beyond so the recognition has blown me away. I am super thankful to every one of my customers for their continued support. 💗 I love travel and couldn’t imagine being in any other industry.

Wow, I can’t believe January has been and gone!! ✈️

Finishing up our Thailand trip with 4 nights in Bangkok, exploring the Grand Palace, night markets, street food, fancy roof bars, local restaurants, shopping and lots of foot massages (a must when walking around in the heat here)! A big city to explore but very easy to get around via the sky train, local taxis, tuk tuks and water taxis. My third time to this bustling city and it won’t be the last!

Drive about three hours west of Bangkok and you reach the mountainous Kanchanaburi province. Staying in floating jungle rafts situated on the river Kwai Noi is the perfect place to unwind and take in the natural surroundings (the stars here are incredible with no light pollution and plenty of shooting stars). There are lots of natural attractions within the national parks such as waterfalls and hot springs.

We also spent some time in Kanchanaburi town which became notorious as the home of the Bridge on the River Kwai. The controversial structure built to support the Thai-Burmese railway by prisoners of war during WWII. This is still a working railway today and you can walk across it, take trips up the river or visit the local museums for those interested in learning more on the history here.

Revisiting Koh Samui, 17 years since I first came as a backpacker! The water is still crystal clear, the beaches have lovely golden sand with rock formations that wouldn’t look out of place in the Seychelles, and the lush green rainforests make this island even more special. 🌴

It is one of the more developed islands (a domestic airport here) which of course has ups and down sides ,but a worthwhile stop on your Thailand Island Adventure nonetheless. There are many different areas to stay/visit on the island depending on what you are looking for from your trip! This is also the gateway for Ko Tao and Ko Pha Ngan but as a 4 night stopover for me this is all about some relaxation time on Samui..

Tongsai Bay is a 5* eco resort set on its own stunning private beach in the North of the Island and with rooms down to 30–40% capacity it was like our own resort 🏖 💕
The nearby town of Bophut has evolved from sleepy fishing village to a buzzing town with local restaurants and bars. Chaweng beach was quiet and full of local families, although the night life scene is still strong here for those looking for a late night out.

Thailand is slowly getting back to some normality and the local operators here are hopeful that as the rest of Asia is opening up, the restrictions here will also change in the coming months. As always the local Thai people have been nothing short of incredible with their kindness and service. 🇹🇭

Set on the beautiful beach of Bang Tao our 5 night stay here has been amazing. Banyan Tree style and service has been top class and the location for exploring the island is perfect. As you can see the local beach is one of the best on the island!!

After a very busy couple of months I will be taking some time out in Thailand over the next couple of weeks.

Whilst I am there I will be exploring what's new, visiting hotels to add to my portfolio and trying out plenty of local restaurants (already dreaming of Pad Thai!) so I have lots of great recommendations on hand once I return.
Thailand restrictions are getting much easier - you need Thai Pass, PCR test and SHA registered hotels all confirmed, I am happy to run through the process with anyone that needs more information.

I will be taking new appointments again from the 5th April.

As of midnight last night, travellers to Ireland are not required to show proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative PCR test result upon arrival.

Travellers to Ireland are no longer asked to complete a COVID-19 Passenger Locator Form.

So many of my top travel experiences have involved wildlife in their natural environment, from an African safari, Orangutan spotting in Borneo, releasing turtles back in to the ocean in Bali, and a special trip to the Galapagos to name a few.
World Wildlife Day is an opportunity to celebrate the many beautiful and varied forms of wild fauna and flora and to raise awareness of the multitude of benefits that their conservation provides to people.
