Caroline sends us this lovely video and message from the Grotto this morning:
1st March marks the anniversary of the 12th Apparition and the first miracle at the Grotto of Massabielle.
In 1858 the first pilgrims were the people of Lourdes itself and the surrounding villages. On March 1st 1858, Catherine Latapie walked in to Lourdes from the little village of Loubajac, situated 7 kms from the Grotto. She had heard of the discovery of the spring at the Grotto of Massabielle (25th February) and hoped for a cure for her paraylsed hand.
According to accounts at the time over 1500 people had gathered at the Grotto that day/evening to watch and to pray. Catherine Latapie plunged her paraylsed hand into the stream/spring and rediscoverd the use of her paraylsed hand.
On 2nd March Our Lady asks that the priests have a chapel built here and that people come here in procession and so many millions of pilgrims from all over the world have answered that invitation over the years, maybe you would like to take up Our Lady's Invitation this year?

We are getting ready to welcome pilgrims and pilgrimage directors who are travelling out to Lourdes 7th, 8th, and 9th of February. They will join many from all over the world who come to Lourdes at this time to celebrate/remember the anniversary of the first apparition and the World Day of the Sick on 11th February.
The pilgrimage Directors and their teams also use the opportunity to meet up and move forward with the organizing of their forthcoming pilgrimages - confirming programmes, meeting with the Sanctuary managers and organizers to make sure everything is being put in place for their pilgrimages. It is also the occasion for them all to get together and share experiences and advice.
Here's to a successful Pilgrimage season for all involved. We are very much looking forward to working with you all again this year.

Happy New Year from Fatima
Our rep Elsa, lighted a candle for all the intentions of our Pilgrims in Fatima Sanctuary last Sunday.
Happy New Year from Fatima!
Happy Christmas from Lourdes
The Sanctuary is quiet at the moment as we approach Christmas, but once the Christmas holidays start here there will once again be a steady flow of pilgrims and visitors to the Grotto as holiday makers take time out to visit.
There were large crowds here for the feast day on 8th December, despite the rain 1000's joined the International Mass in Pius X followed by the Angelus at the Grotto . Many thousands of white roses were placed at the Grotto to honour Our Lady on her feast day.
The Advent candles are also placed at the Grotto, and as every year the main Crib of the Sanctuary is placed at the Grotto. There are several Nativity Scenes within the Sanctuary and visitors throughout the Christmas period are invited to visit and admire the work of the Sanctuary staff who prepare the cribs and embellish the Sanctuary for Christmas.
Sending you all sincere wishes for a happy and peaceful Christmas with friends and family.
See you in 2024!!
Caroline
