Although travel from the UK is continuing to be only where necessary there are many UK citizens who are still abroad due to restrictions in coming home.

If you're in Spain.info and are experiencing the lockdown restrictions being lifted you may want to get out and about and see the country you're in!

This beautiful country is full of bustling cities such as Barcelona or Seville, mountainous towns including Coin as well as some of the best beaches in the world - especially in the Costa Del Sol resort of La Cala de Mijas - so there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

It's easy to get despondent over the fact that we can't explore the world as much as we'd like to at the moment. ⁣

However this is the perfect opportunity to update your travel supplies. ⁣

Start by checking if your suitcase/backpack is still safe and secure - especially for a post-coronavirus world - then check all your other items. ⁣

We know our mini first aid kit needs updating as well as our holiday ebooks and will be making full use of the many offers on at the moment!⁣

Countries around the world have their own customs and traditions and some even have their own traditional dances. ⁣

We've been learning different dances from different countries, including how to do the Highland Fling via this great video we found from Two Scots Abroad. ⁣

We'd love to know what your favourite dance is, and why. ⁣

Why not make your next night different by getting everyone to chose a different drink from around the world? ⁣

Whether it's a soft drink or alcoholic there are many drinks to choose from such as Cambodian elephant dung coffee or a traditional Siam Sunray from Thailand. ⁣

Only a few hours by bus from Kuala Lumpur the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Malacca has everything you need to make it your perfect trip. ⁣

Visit buildings from the Portuguese period - such as St Paul's Church - or one of the many temples and mosques in the city. ⁣

The city's walls have some amazing murals on them, best viewed from a trip along the river that runs through the city before finishing your day off in one of the cafes that makes Malacca a must visit location once the world has reopened.

However many forget about the majestical country of Slovenia. Located on the 'sunny side of the Alps' Slovenia has started to come into its own, thanks to its food, culture, welcoming locals and stunning scenery. ⁣

It is also the perfect spot for adrenaline junkies to head thanks to destinations like Planica which is home to a zip line that's so steep you feel like you're on a ski jump.⁣

Or why not bungee jump off Bridge Solkan, raft along the river Soča or just relax at Lake Bled.⁣

Have you ever wondered how some people get such amazing light in their photos? ⁣

Golden hour is the period of time either just after sunrise or just before sunset, and the colours you can get in your photos can make some truly stunning memories for you. ⁣

With the warmer weather at the moment why not practice your photography skills so that when you can explore the world again you know you'll come home with photos to be proud of! ⁣

There are many websites offering free photography tips at the moment - including The School of Photography - so why not experiment while you have the spare time. ⁣

Many of us has plenty of spare time to fill at the moment and planning for a holiday when everywhere has reopened will not only give you something to look forward to but can also help your children with their schoolwork.

India is a location that you may wish to think about. Although the long journey may put you off, the history that seeps out of the country's pores is certainly worth it.

While many visitors to the country head to Agra to visit the amazing Taj Mahal, few will head east to Chennai.

Located in Eastern India on the Bay of Bengal, Chennai has many religious sites as well as museums to visit - including the Fort St. George which was originally built in 1644.

If exploring history isn't quite your idea of a fun holiday why not head to the beach? Chennai's Marina Beach is the second longest urban beach in the world and we're sure at 13km long you'll be able to find a spot to sit back and take in the scenery before heading into the water to cool down.

There are also many concerts held over the December/January period so heading to the region towards the end of 2021 will give you plenty of time to research everywhere you would like to go.

If your kids are getting bored stuck at home why not arrange a camping session in the garden?⁣

Camping with Style took part in the Great British Campout over Easter and it couldn't have looked more fun!⁣

If you have a secure garden, space and adventurous children pitch your tent up, set up the barbie and watch the stars from your back garden while you wait for the little ones to fall asleep.⁣

It may not be the perfect alternative to your cancelled holiday plans this year but for your little ones it can be an experience they may not have otherwise had.⁣

If you're not sure what to do with the kids this week why not take a look at Egypt, or more specifically Cairo which is home to some of the oldest landmarks in the world.⁣

Research the pyramids, the Sphinx of Giza or the Sakkara, or you could even take a virtual tour of the Nile (watch here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjdOlv82kPE).⁣

You could even have an Egyptian themed dinner, with kebabs or baklava.⁣

However with restrictions still in some places, it may be best to leave the toilet rolls alone when dressing up as a mummy!⁣

With travel not an option at the moment it is important to keep ourselves busy while we're at home, keeping safe. ⁣

So why not bring the world to you? ⁣

Tidy up your garden and enjoy the lovely weather with an area dedicated to your favourite destination! ⁣

Garden furniture with potted plants can give you a mediterranean feel while sitting with your feet in the kids paddling pool can make you feel like you're on the beach! ⁣

Okay, we know it's not perfect but at least you can relax for half an hour and dream of where you'll be heading off to soon.

Brazil is one of the most visited places in the world, with Rio de Janeiro attracting around 25 million tourists each year. However the beautiful city of São Paulo is often overlooked.

At only 5.5 hours from Rio, Sao Paulo - voted one of Brazil's safest cities - not only has a better climate option for many tourists, there are also virtually no tourist traps, unlike other areas of Brazil.

While Rio may be famous for its festivals, Sao Paulo has festivals including February's Carnaval, Virada Cultural in March and Parada do Orgulho LGBT in June.

It's also worth noting that the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix next year will be a big attraction so you may want to avoid Sao Paulo next November.

Have you attended any of Brazil's amazing carnivals or festivals? We'd love to hear your stories!

Struggling to keep the little one's attention on their school work? ⁣

Why not make it fun? ⁣

Take their favourite movie and create projects around the theme. ⁣

For instance, if they love the Secret Life of Pets you could look at New York, where it is, it's history & places you'd love to visit. ⁣

Visit London for Mary Poppins or Mary Poppins Returns or maybe Australia for Finding Nemo (or Dory!). ⁣

However it is easy to see why it was included. With places to visit such as the Cedars of God, Beqaa Valley, Kadisha Valley and Pigeons' Rock, the area is certainly somewhere to consider visiting. ⁣

About TripGeek

We are TripGeek, providing accommodation to the world as cheap as possible and cheaper in many markets then our rivals.

We have over 170,000 hotels on our website with competitive pricing from over 185 countries.

You are probably asking yourself, how are we different to the other websites offering accommodation? Well we want the trip to be memorable to you and we take the extra effort to give you that personalised touch. We'll call the hotel in advance to ensure your trip is confirmed and no hiccups are expected unlike the big companies, who rely on automation which can go wrong. We actually have real people doing this to make sure there are no surprises when you get to your accommodation ready for your stay. We'll make sure your stay is great by ensuring the hotel provides that little extra to TripGeek guests. Not only that, we are looking to drive prices right down to help you get the best deal. Try and compare us to the others out there and you will see we can offer some great discounts in places - click the Trip Advisor score and see the comparison price.

We want to be the first place you turn to when you look to get a last minute hotel, a surprise stay, a cheap sleep, a planned bed.....keep checking back as we will be launching a loyalty program, deeper discounts, cashback offers and much more. Yes, we have over 170,000 hotels but we are not just sitting on that, we plan to add more hotels every month to increase the opportunity for you to book the best hotel stays.
