Another (not so) glorious day in Wicklow for our last MOUNTAIN SKILLS 2 course of 2024..🌧 🌧

A stiff wind and driving drizzly rain did not deter these amazing navigators from their task to find their way across the mountains in fog and darkness.. 👏 👏

Great effort by everyone in pretty sh*te conditions.

Environmental deep cleaning has recommenced on the White Road in the Featherbeds. Please avoid this path midweek (Mondays to Fridays).

After storm Darragh forced a late start today, our MOUNTAIN SKILLS 1 team experienced some bright 🌞 weather and some strong winds.
The very blowy conditions in Wicklow meant we stayed fairly low on the hills, but we still managed to get in a full day of great navigation learning.

Top effort by the guys today.. 👏 👏

WINTER SKILLS WEEKEND 28 Feb- 04 Mar 2025

Learn the skills to hike the snowy Scottish hills, use of a walking ice axe and the correct use of crampons, then use these skills for a guided ascent of BEN NEVIS.
A superb winter outing based in Fort William.

Three days of winter skills in the amazing Scottish Mountains.
You will need to be confident and competent summer hillwalkers and be comfortable on steep ground with a bit of exposure.
No previous winter hiking experience is required but note you will need to have a good level of fitness to complete this course.

580E per person to include 4 nights accommodation, ( Fri-Mon), transport from Glasgow airport and instructor/guide fees. (Flights, food and kit hire not included).
Hire of winter boots, crampons and ice axe available, at 25 GBP per day. No need to purchase your own.
100E deposit required to secure your place.

An incredibly wet and unpleasant day for our latest MOUNTAIN SKILLS 2 course in Wicklow.
9 hours of wind blown drizzle ensured we all got a good soaking.. 💦

Despite the tough conditions, the guys aced the navigational tasks set them, and showed some top skills.
Nice one team.. 👏 👏
