The former Central Bank Building is still under renovations, but Central Plaza is open and a new square in Dublin on Dame Street.

A bit quiet this morning, but it's a great meeting point...especially for our Scheduled Tours by Pat Liddy Walking Tours.

Powerscourt Townhouse is a Georgian great house that has seen many Christmases in Dublin since 1774.

Once the residence of the 3rd Viscount Powerscourt, today it's a beautiful shopping centre promoting Irish design and delicacies, especially at Christmas time.

Powerscourt Townhouse is also a stop on our walking tours of Dublin Highlights and Hidden Corners.

🎁 Our Gift Vouchers are a great Christmas present for that hard to buy for loved one!

📸 Holly tree in the corner garden in Dubh Linn Gardens behind .

In Irish mythology, holly, or Cuileann, was seen as one of the noble trees and was never completely cut down, though sprigs were often used for home decoration and protection. It was believed that holly could protect homes from evil spirits and provide shelter for benevolent fairies during winter.

Additionally, the tradition of hanging holly on doors and inside houses in Ireland dates back to ancient times, with the holly considered a symbol of life, protection, strength, and regeneration.

Founded in 1840, Bewley's is a Dublin institution. The Café, which was opened on Grafton Street in 1927, immediately became an essential part of literary, cultural, artistic, architectural and social life in Dublin...especially at Christmas time. 🎄
