The Old Liffey Ferry - Over 350 years of Community Service
The Old Liffey Ferry Service has finished for the season and will return to our regular schedule as detailed below in March of 2020.
The Ferry service was first granted a charter in 1665 by King Charles II, (although there had been a ferry dating back at least to the 1400's), and it was eventually discontinued in 1984 with the opening of the then new East Link toll bridge (Tom Clarke Bridge).
The Old Liffey Ferry service will run between the Cill Airne and Sir John Rogerson's Quay and The Point Depot (3Arena) pontoons, Monday to Friday, at the following times:
08.00am – 10.00am
12.00noon – 02.00pm
04.00pm – 06.30pm
The Irish Nautical Trust, along with The Dublin Port Company and Dublin City Council, are proud to bring the return of The Old Liffey Ferry Service to Dublin's Docklands.
