Even if you are hiking in dry areas a lightweight rain jacket is a must. Just one rain shower and you are your gear is wet and heavier to carry.

How Fit do You Have to be to Walk the Camino de Santiago.

The quick answer is you don't have to be very fit to walk the - but there is a bit more than just that.

Not very is the simple answer, but if you are it helps. many walk the Camino Frances that would never consider walking long distances at home and they get there.

I didn't set out to lose weight on the   - just a side effect.

Yes, I lost a lot of weight. However this was a by product of walking everyday and eating less than I likely would at home - though I was never hungry.
