Christmas is just around the corner, and while it’s a joyful time for many, it can also be an emotional period for children in foster care. For them, the holidays might bring up feelings of loss or uncertainty.

Foster carers play an important role in creating a comforting, stable environment during this time. Simple traditions like decorating a tree together or sharing a festive meal can go a long way in making your foster child feel loved and included.🎄

Our Orchard Fostering Carer winter lunches took place in a number of locations last Friday, where foster carers and staff members joined together to catch up over lunch. ✨

Thank you to all of our foster carers and staff members who could make it, it was such a lovely afternoon and we missed those of you who couldn't make it on the day!

Winter can be a special time to create warm, cosy memories with your foster child. From cuddling under blankets with a good book to baking cookies together, these moments of comfort can strengthen your bond and make a child feel safe and loved.

It’s also important to ensure your home is physically warm and welcoming. Check your heating systems, stock up on blankets, and prepare for cosy nights in!
