Small Town Charm
During the summer of 2017 I began planning my AirBnB space. It started with clearing out decades of “stuff” from the family RECroom. Shop cabinets were taken out and floors and walls scrubbed and prepped for a fresh coat of paint. Things got a little out of hand due to my perfectionistic nature and what should have been a 3 month spruce up turned into almost a year of meticulously restoring neglected furniture, cabinets, windows and doors.
The home was built in 1927 and has only had 3 owners, who loved it as it was. Not much has been done to the place other than regular maintenance. The bungalow has all of it’s original windows, siding and tongue and groove interior walls. Old shop cabinets were repurposed, relocated and given new life. A few doors were freed from decades of paint and a few were found via Craigslist and FaceBook BST sites.
I tried to create a space I can live in while rehabbing the main house. So if you are wondering why October 2018 is blacked out on myAirBnB page now you know. I’ll be back at the craziness of making what was once old and neglected feel fresh and new again.
