Day two - I can report the team are in incredible condition heathy and feeling great as we arrive in shira camp 3800m on our way to Kilimanjaro summit.

The power of the human spirit can’t be broken
I took the team to visit a local massai tribe in the bush and the welcome we received was amazing. This village elder lady was 130years of age - yes 130 and she shared a bracket with Jennifer. And while both had no common language the power of the human spirit and respect was so incredibly evident. #pureadventure #jasonblackmountaineering #africa #kilimanjaro
Inspiration
Everywhere she goes she touches hearts. Today the local tribe men felt so inspired by Jennifer Doherty who is climbing Kilimanjaro.
What makes it even more special is Jenny is blind and brilliantly powerful. She’s so headstrong and mentally strong with a real team first attitude.
The African lads were so moved that they carved here name into the tree that we camped under, last night. She’s only here a day and I think the whole of Africa knows she’s here.. what a woman.

Day one Kilimanjaro expedition
Day one for the team in Africa in our Kilimanjaro expedition.
Straight from the plane we whisked the team deep into the bush and deep into Africa.
Sitting around the African campfire tonight we sang and danced to the heart beat of this magical place.
With an early morning swim planned at our secret hide away, we’re of to our friends at the Massai village to continue the experience of true African life, which is so important to us at Jason black mountaineering and which makes us uniquely different to others and pure as an adventure company.
We really surprised the team on day one swimming at our secret camp enjoying the most gorgeous BBQ and camped around the fire under the stars of Africa, and the experience is only going to get better as we have so much more planned.
Everyone’s in great form and so excited inhaling every breath of Africa with delight.
