It is with great pleasure that we announce that for the first time since 2020, Mountmellick Drama Group will take to the stage to present to you a Night of Theatre featuring 3 different One Act Plays!

🎭 Featuring:

“My Narrator” by Norm Foster
“Dead Man’s Bells” by Méabh de Brún and
“The Quiet Land” by Malachy McKenna

Three different stories, three different casts; it’s a night not to be missed!

Taking to the stage on Thursday 14th March and Friday 15th March 2024 in the Mountmellick Community Arts Centre at 8pm nightly.

Step into the rich tapestry of Ireland's past at the Mountmellick Craft Museum. Discover the unique tradition of Mountmellick Embroidery, a 19th-century art form created using intricate white-on-white embroidery that's entirely Irish in origin and design. The museum is well worth a visit and includes stunning original pieces, including a preserved quilt sold to the Earl of Dunraven in 1847.

We have the luxury within the Midlands to have the best picnic spots and I think most times the off putting thing about a picnic is having to make it and pack it, hopefully that is where we can creep in. The weather is picking up, the bike trail is in full swing, the scenery on the slieve bloom, the Rock of Dunamase and Emo Court are among the best around, We will have a menu created in the next week or so for pick up a Picnic and will keep you posted 😃😃😃

IMRA the Irish Mountain Running Association, Slieve Bloom Way Races June 24th 2023.

Race details:
A half marathon from Kinnitty to Clonaslee (approx. 24km)
A marathon from Glenbarrow to Clonaslee (approx. 43km)
and the full Slieve Bloom Way race starting at Clonaslee in a clockwise direction (approx. 70km).
