Our Joe is in Belfast today on YMT Vacations ‘Best of Ireland’ tour series. The two huge yellow H&W cranes in the background are know locally as ‘Samson & Goliath’ and dominate the entire Belfast city skyline.
Constructed to service the vast new graving dock at Harland and Wolff, Goliath (the smaller at 315 ft) began work in 1969, and the 348ft Samson five years later. Each of the Krupp-Ardelt designed cranes can lift loads of up to 840 tons.

So good to be able to park safely and load luggage & passengers without cyclists & vehicles whizzing by within an inch of our drivers. Dublin has become a nightmare city for coach drivers simply trying to do their job. Great to overnight at the Crowne Plaza where they everything covered for group travel. Parking, loading bays, good food, nice rooms, quick porterage, easy access to the city, M50 & airport.

Our usual weekly stop at The Crolly Distillery in Co Donegal. A firm favourite with guests. This wonderful distillery is located in the original building where The Crolly Dollies were made from the 1940s until the 1970s.
