Exciting news or what?
This August, Youghal Athletic Club will host their inaugural 'Youghal Bay Half Marathon & 10km' Event.
Held as part of the ‘Youghal Festival of Sport’, this is a multi-lap course through the Medieval Streets of Youghal and the beautiful scenic Front Strand area. Youghal Athletic Club have a unique 2 lap course so supporters will have plenty of opportunity to watch competitors as they make their way around and enjoy a fantastic running atmosphere and breath-taking scenery.
It is expected in the region of 1500 runners will participate across the two events on the morning so large crowds are expected, adding to the atmosphere. This is what the excited Youghal Athletic Club say about their upcoming spectacular event:- "We would encourage everyone to come out and support the athletes and show the great hospitality which Youghal has become famous for.
Proceeds from the race will be for the benefit of Youghal Athletic Club for the promotion of athletics in the area.
€2 from every entry will also be donated to a local charity, Youghal Meals-on-Wheels
Full road closures will be in place along the course from 8:00am until 2:00pm. We ask those living on the race route and who need to leave town on Sunday morning, to please park their cars off the course. There will be no cars permitted on the course after 8:00am.

The launch of Youghal’s new destination brand ‘Living Youghal’ and a new website, livingyoughal.ie, is a pivotal moment for this charming seaside town and strongly affirms its place on Ireland’s tourist map.
