Tisha B'Av, the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av, is a day of profound mourning for the Jewish community. It marks the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, catastrophic events that are deeply etched into Jewish history and consciousness. In recent times, this day has also become a time of reflection on other tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people, such as the expulsion from Gush Katif in 2005 and the devastating loss of life on October 7, 2023.
The sorrow is expressed through fasting, refraining from wearing leather shoes, praying, and the reading of the Book of Lamentations, known as "Eichah" in Hebrew. This ancient text poetically captures the anguish and despair of these historical calamities, echoing the deep sense of loss that continues to resonate today.
On this day, the collective mourning is not just for the past but also for the pain and challenges faced by the Jewish people in the present.

Amiel had the distinct honor of welcoming US pastors and leaders of Christian organizations to Israel. The tour was organized by CityServe from the United States in collaboration with Amiel. During the tour, the group visited the parents of Shani Louk, whose body was returned for burial in Israel last month. At the parents' home, an emotional meeting took place, where Pastor Todd blessed the couple and prayed alongside the group for the release of all hostages.
