Your ECA is valid for five years from the date of issue, and you can continue using your ECA when you submit a new Express Entry profile.

Your Express Entry profile is valid for one year from the date you submit a profile to IRCC. If you have not received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence after one year and still want to continue with Express Entry, you will need to complete and submit a new profile.

Note: WES does not evaluate occupational or trade qualifications.

A WES ECA is valid for five years from the date of issue. For example, you can continue using it for future Express Entry profiles.

WES guidelines that you should know:

In most cases, you only need to submit your highest credential for an ECA.

What is your highest degree?
If you have a doctorate, then you do not need to submit your bachelor’s degree or master’s degree for evaluation.
If you have a master’s degree, then you do not need to submit your bachelor’s degree for evaluation.
If you have a bachelor’s degree, then you do not need to submit your secondary school records for evaluation.

The typical processing time for World Education Services (WES) evaluations is approximately 35 business days from the day that a completed application (including all required documents, information, and full payment of fees) is received by WES and compiled for internal review and processing. Processing times may vary depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to the volume of applications that WES has received, the complexity of the application, and other factors.
