I would love to talk about one memorable experience we crafted a few years ago.

Sikkim, a slice of heaven nestled amidst the Himalayas, remains etched in our memories. This serene state, with its pristine lakes and majestic mountains, captivates the soul like no other. From the tranquil landscapes to the sacred sites, Sikkim offers a plethora of breathtaking vistas that leave you yearning for more. Gazing at the mountains as they kiss the clouds, traversing through miles of snow-clad dunes, and embarking on adventures like the cable car ride in Gangtok, visiting the Black Cat museum, and crossing the Nathulla pass – each moment is etched in our hearts forever.

Lake Tsongmo, with its pristine waters and colourful yaks grazing against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks, is a sight straight out of a dream.

Lake Gurudongmar – a sacred place to Hindus and Buddhists! Legend states that the lake was blessed by Guru Rimpoche and hence no matter how hard and difficult winter is, there will be a part of the lake that never freezes, ensuring water during harsh frozen winters. Meeting the divine LAMAS at 17800 ft above the sea at Lake Gurudongmar chanting prayers is pure bliss.

En route to Gurudongmar, the quaint villages of Lachen and Lachung welcome you with open arms. Their simplicity, closeness to nature, and warm hospitality leave a lasting impression.

As someone who embraces the joys of travel, I firmly believe that each journey offers the opportunity to create lasting memories, not just for ourselves but also for generations to come. A lot of clients blame the Travel Agent when their visa gets refused.

While I agree that sometimes the errors may be an oversight from the agent, here are a few tips to ensure you get your visa right

1. Plan early – Especially if you wish to travel to USA/UK/ SCHENGEN countries. Make sure that your bank account shows consistent income every month.
2. Share relevant Bank ac statements. If you manage multiple accounts and are transferring to an investment account, post that as well in the visa documents submission.
3. Bank Balance to be substantial and proportionate to the country that you wish to visit and the spending you might have there.
4. Avoid large influx of funds into the account prior to visa application. If you did have a transaction like that – explain it. Eg: Sale of property/ liquidation of investments etc then it must be documentated thoroughly.
5. If you are self employed or a business owner, withdraw a salary every month to make sure you show regular income
6. Make sure you file a payslip against your income withdrawn ( for self employed or business) for employees – produce payslip and the bank statement wherein the credit of salary is debited.
7. File your ITR, every foreign country would like to know that you are a law abiding citizen in India, hence you need to provide this.
8. Take a recent picture – against white background, no spectacles, ears to be seen! For ladies avoid open hair in the pictures for visa applications.
9. Number of blank pages in the passport ( Make sure you have atleast 4-5 blank sides, for visa, entry & exit stamp)
10. Validity of the passport – Most countries insist on a minimum of 6 months from the return travel date.
11. You have spouse name on your passport, but you are travelling alone? Get a spouse NOC to avoid rejections.

Whew! The list of VISA Do’s & Donts is huge and never ending like a monologue. Bottom line is to remember, you have to submit everything that you think is necessary for the application. Visa officers are not obliged to ask questions or additional documents. They can simply put a refused stamp on your application. All these tips and rules are what me and my team at Arius Holidays have learned, practiced and mastered for the past 8 years to get us a 98% Visa acceptance rate*.
