August 2

August 2 This was just a thought and then we made it bigger and then it became better It is a first-brick in the wall they have dreamt to build.

Some dreams don’t live long enough to see the day-light, some ambitions just fade away with time, some aspirations stay hinged to the back of our mind struggling to burst out and be realized, some distances stay uncovered, not because they were too far, but because for all of us and for all our endeavors the ‘First step’ towards the destination was the toughest to take. The dreadful thought of fai

lure binds us and keeps our thoughts stitched to the ground; it makes us immovable and incapable of looking beyond the darkness of our negativity, and puts a curtain on the bright sunshine of our aim – our dream. But this very first step is the declaration of the beginning, a celebration of the beginning which would take us to the doors of our destination. Nothing has ever been achieved in this world but for this very FIRST-STEP by all who have had the courage to start on the journey they believe would one day lead them to the doors of their destination.
‘August 2’ is this very First-step by a group of aspirers who have tried to fight against the uncertainty of the end-result, uncertainty of success, and even the uncertainty of being able to complete their movie. It is the end-product of a thought of a person who has always wanted to be a Director, a guy who enjoyed watching movies, not for the sake of entertainment but for his admiration about the thought process of the guy who made them. A self–made observer of human-emotions, P V Krishnan likes to challenge himself to work on the minutest of details, be it expressions, locations or the position of actors in the frame. It is the end-product of the hard work of an engineer who after a week-long stint at his office spent the weekend working hard, learning and grasping as much as he could while acting in front of a camera. Rahul Azad, with full confidence in his ability to catch and react to the challenges a rolling camera throws at an actor worked hard to impress the Director and gain his confidence and support for completing the project. It is the end-product of a professional who was the only one in the team with a background in acting. Sameer, made sure with his inputs, support and hard-work that the team could accomplish completing the project. His dream of becoming a successful actor and his experience came to the rescue as and when required. It is the end-product of a dreamer who has a passion for this difficult field of acting. Who feels comfortable only when a camera is rolling! Joyita Das came into the team with a history of theatre and mime and a complete dedication to the thing she loves. Unable to find any sponsors, it was difficult to jump straight away but the confidence in the story, written by PV Krishnan himself, the confidence in its twists and turns, the passion of the people involved and the dedication with which everyone wanted to put their best step forward, it just kept going and in a span of few of “weekends” the story started to take shape.
