"There have been a handful of pivotal experiences in my life, many of which SSVM has played an integral part. Though it has been years, I still fondly reminisce about how close-knit my entire class was and the immense affection we had towards our teachers. At that time, the school felt like a duty, but every day, someone would bring red velvet cupcakes, pasta, coffee, Oreos, or 50/50, which we would share sat in the corridors that we claimed as our own. I remember how we huddled around in circles and recounted movies that we'd just watched and scrambled during the morning assembly before a big exam.

I also found that being given the opportunity to participate in theatre, speech and debate, event hosting and cultural activities enabled me to gain confidence and hone my communication skills. I credit SSVM and the conducive environment it provided me to explore all my interests and the subsequent support and recognition in my competitive ventures.

It is essential to ensure that you are involved in multiple aspects of student life, including academics, extracurriculars, sports, and volunteering. Top universities expect portfolios that are individualistic and reflect your specific interests. You shouldn't get involved in activities you don't enjoy- recruiters will know that you are not passionate! Instead, choose a few hobbies that you truly are invested in, no matter how niche they may be. You should be able to demonstrate transferable skills, i.e., interpersonal skills, discipline, dedication, organisation, etc., which will set you apart from the crowd. Also, remember to research the universities and the courses you are applying for; you will be surprised by the varied options available to you. University is not an easy feat - you need to set realistic expectations for yourself, remember that rejection is normal, and have the trust that things will work out in the end. Throughout my time at University, I have been very involved in altruistic and legal projects. I've also juggled multiple jobs – as an English tutor, business owner, retail worker, and University/ College Mentor - with my education and volunteering endeavours."

Nature walks are a fun and easy way to bring your students outdoors. Doing a nature walk is not only about celebrating our Earth. It’s also an opportunity for learning experiences in various subjects such as science, geography, math, and art. Each nature walk offers something different for students to explore – even if you walk the same trails from one day to the next. If you live in a colder climate, the changing seasons can be another great way to observe plants and animals as the weather shifts.
Such experiences can be exhilarating, fun, and inspirational. SSVM learners of grade 2 had a nature walk session where they observed what nature had to offer for them, be it the insects on the grass or the new leaf buds that excited them.

Children enjoy the process of learning when they play as they learn. SSVM Vidhyaans were engaged in a hands on activity pertaining to landforms. Fine Motor skill development activities help the students to play with small objects, encourages creativity, improves hand-eye coordination, assists in the development of communication skills (talking, writing and drawing), fosters independence, and Builds confidence.

Students were actively involved in designing models of landforms using wide array of art supplies, their imaginations and synergy. They also discussed and provided constructive feedback of the work done by the peers.

India celebrates National Science Day on February 28 to commemorate the remarkable work of Indian physicist CV Raman in the field of light scattering. Known as one of the greatest scientists and an inspiration to many, Raman's work has often proved to be helpful in modern science, and his life has been a source of inspiration for many.

The young scientists in the making from SSVM World School participated in various activities and experiments for grades I to VIII on this occasion.

This International Women’s Day, 8 March, Let’s Celebrate “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” and call for climate action for women by women.

From the United Nation’s latest research and data, it has been illustrated that social equity, gender, and climate change are closely interconnected. It can be observed that without gender equality, an equal and sustainable future is unquestionably out of reach.

Women and girls experience the most significant impacts of the climate crisis as it amplifies existing gender inequalities and puts women’s lives and livelihoods at risk. Across the world, women depend more on, yet have less access to, natural resources and often bear a disproportionate responsibility for securing food, water, and fuel.

As women and girls bear the burden of climate impacts, they are also essential to leading and driving change in climate adaption, mitigation, and solutions.  Without including half of the world's population, it is unlikely that solutions for a sustainable planet and a gender-equal world tomorrow will be realized.

A renowned conservation biologist says, “If you take care of the birds, you take care of most of the big problems in the world.” Mr. Rakesh Khatri, the nest man of India, has a record of making over 2.25 lakh nests for birds all over India. He describes his initiative of providing homes to hundreds of birds as “The blessed feeling of being able to give a home to someone cannot be possibly expressed in words.” He now runs an organization called the Eco Roots Foundation that conducts workshops all around the country.

At SSVM World School, an educative workshop on Nest making was conducted by Mr. Rakesh Khatri, the nest man of India, to make our Vidhyaans understand saving birds is vital for our Ecosystem. Our Vidhyaans as a team actively participated and have enjoyed immensely making a birdhouse for birds using eco-friendly materials. Mr. Rakesh Khatri was appreciated for his tremendous contribution to saving the birds and building nests for them. Our students were extremely delighted in providing homes for many birds and waiting for the birds to enter their newly built homes.

Good motor skills and spatial thinking are considered to be the most important for children’s physical, social, and psychological development; when different abilities are blended together, each cooperates with the other to produce effective ways of exploring, making learning fun and exciting.

Our SSVM Vidhyaans took great interest in map coloring activities using pulses and cereals, which helped them explore and better understand the world's continents.

Our students underwent a comprehensive Fire Drill & Safety Plan workshop that provided a valuable opportunity to test everyone’s responsibilities and help reduce room for disarray during a fire emergency. We are super proud to share that Snenthra Babu of Grade 11 from our SSVM World School has clinched a gold medal in the National Billiards and Snooker Tournament! The event was conducted by SAGE University and Billiards Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) and was held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. 

Players from various states, namely Tamilnadu,  Kerala,  Andhra Pradesh,  Karnataka, Goa, Telangana, Puducherry, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, participated in the National Tournament representing their own states.

Our SSVM WS student, Snenthra Babu from Coimbatore, represented Tamilnadu in the National event and won a Gold medal in the under 18 Sub-junior Billiards category and a Bronze medal in the under 21 Junior Billiards category. She is the first-ever National Title winner in Cue sports from other districts apart from Chennai in Tamilnadu.

Snenthra Babu has won 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals in the Tamil Nadu state Billiards and Snooker Tournament conducted by Tamilnadu Billiards and Snooker Association (TNBSA) in Chennai in October 2021.

Strolling through the green corridors, reminiscing the schooling years, our SSVM World School Alumni students visited the campus and engaged in nostalgic conversations with their teachers, principal, and the managing trustee.

Such visits by our alumni have always made our teaching community feel appreciative of the work and service they do!

Christmas is the time to spend quality time with your dear ones, cherish and savour what you have. It is a time when we show gratitude to each other and be thankful for our lives. It is the time to spread love and togetherness and soak in the festivities.

It is so pleasing and a treat to our eyes to witness the joy in our SSVM World School campus celebrating Christmas; our SSVM Vidhyaans sang carols, danced, put up plays, and rejoiced. The entire campus got enriched with the positive energy of happiness and celebration.

Children from different faiths participated in decoration and celebrations. They study the differences and yet the bond of love, warmth, cheer, and selflessness that bring humanity together.
