#Repost from @kamakhyarecords The idea behind the BAITHAK ON THE FARM featuring Lo.Renzo from Italy, the Gandharva Brothers of Nepal and Vaishali Sinha from Calcutta during the second edition of the Gig Sessions of Kamakhya Records (17-21 October, 2022) @paat_halodhiya Farm was to present vanishing folk musical traditions from the Indian subcontinent to the global audience with a contemporary twist. \\ And in the first edition we featured the fast-vanishing Gandharva Geets of Nepal - songs of nature, beautiful villages, the silk trade, love and more - sung by the Gandharva Brothers from the Jhapa district of Nepal, traveling bards, and farmers from the Gandharva community. \\ The Baithak on the Farm was inspired by this unique programme of Darjeeling Walks called "BAITHAK IN THE HILLS - MUSICIANS IN RESIDENCE" which is curated by Vaishali Sinha. It is conducted for inquisitive travellers in remote villages of the Eastern Himalayas.
