Bagnath Temple - Bageshwar

Bagnath Temple is an ancient temple devoted to Lord Shiva. It is situated in the Bageshwar town of Uttarakhand. The temple was constructed in 1450 by Kumaon ruler, Laxmi Chand, at the confluence of Gomati and Sarayu rivers. The prime shrine has Lord Shiva as a presiding deity. There are 17 subsidiary shrines which are dedicated to various deities including Lord Kedareswar, Lakshmi-Narayan and Brahmini Devi. Someshwar Temple Kausani

Someshwar temple is a very old Shiva temple. Someshwar is about 12 kms from Kausani and 35 kms from Dwarahat. Its main entrance is very inconspicuous and one is liable to miss it easily. So after crossing mall area of Someshwar town, one has to start looking for a small board amidst old shops. From a old board depicting the entry to the temple, one has to walk about 100 meters on a narrow path to reach the temple.

The main temple has a Shiva Linga and has idols of Brahma, Ganesha and Lakulesha placed at the back of Shiva Linga. This Temple was built by ruler Lakshmi Chand in 1602 but the idols which are kept in the temple belongs to 7th – 16th century.

Besides these idols, there are several sculptures of deities placed outside open to sky without any shelter.

The authorities have to open their eyes towards the maintenance of this ancient temple.

Neem Karoli Baba is highly revered in this part of the world. The shrine is frequented by thousands of his followers and devotees including a huge number of foreigners.

This place has something about it which can't be explained in words. It’s a beautiful temple complex; serene and clean, surrounded by hills. A small river that flows by the temple is amazing. Though the great saint is no more present in his physical form, one can feel his presence.

Kainchi Dham is at a distance of 9 Km from Bhowali and 17 Kms from Nainital. The best way to visit the holy place is by road. One has to reach Haldwani, the door to the Kumaon Hills. Mahasu Devta Temple is one of the ancient temples enlisted in the Archaeological Survey of India. At a distance of 10 km from Almora Bus Stand, Kasar Devi Temple is a famous Hindu shrine at Kasar Devi village in Almora district of Uttarakhand. It is one of the oldest Hindu temples of the region.
