Loktak Lake. Remember? The floating lake that we used to mark on the map of India in our secondary exams?

Yes, we've been to that very Loktak Lake at Manipur, where land floats on the vast stretch of serene water. The circular floating landforms are called the phumdis. Many fishermen live on these phumdis and live a pristine life.

We took flight to Imphal International Airport which, despite its prestigious name, is actually a tiny cute airdrome that look like a pagoda.

We headed straight to Bishnupur District where Loktak Lake is situated. A quick drive through rural Manipur, fast developing and getting well geared up to mesmerize the tourists, took us to Sendra Park and Resort on a hillock surrounded by the placid Loktak Lake. The lake is stretched as far as your eyes can see. You can enjoy boating, strolls, snack at a floating restaurant, sunset and sunrise in the unspoilt setting.

Extra perks were the Imphal City Tour and a visit to Andro and Singda Dam.
