1. Mangan to Gangtok via Rakdung-Tintek road clear for light vehicles.
2. Mangan to Gangtok via Phodong road clear.
3. Chungthang to Mangan via Naga - Toong route blocked at Toong Bridge. Alternative route open via Shipgyer-Sankalang route.
4. Mangan to Chungthang via Sankalang (Kanaka/ CWC bridge) and Ship-Gyer road clear for all types of Vehicles.
5. Lachen to Chungthang: Road is open from 7 am to 8 am and 4 pm to 5:30 pm for private, Law & Order, and Emergency vehicles only.
6. Lachen to Thangu: Open.

Since the resumption of flight operations in March, Pakyong Airport has been experiencing a substantial influx of passengers.

Since last week, many tourists have complained about how a travel agent in Bengal looted them, and another guest was complaining about how a travel agent from West Bengal was forcing the guest to visit Baba Harbhajan Mandir without showing them Changu Lake via Kalimpong.

Since 2018-19, rural tourism has taken a hit, where people talked about building homestays in rural areas, but now it's no more. Sikkim has become the most declining destination for Indian tourists.

Sikkim’s tourism is run by two types of travel agents - the majority are Bengali, mostly run via Siliguri and Kolkata. Another type is local agents, especially youngsters from Sikkim who can get tourists at low costs, mainly from agents in Bengal. Instead of locals, most people prefer the conventional Siliguri agent because it's a gateway to Sikkim. They not only do spot bookings but also earn trust. As a result, each agent from Siliguri leases out a hotel in Sikkim where they can keep their guests. Nowadays, the online permit system has also messed up, as 70% of the permits operate outside.

Furthermore, before the downfall of tourism, tourists mostly came to Sikkim to experience its natural resources and environment. Shivakumar, who used to drive an auto in Hooghly, Kolkata, saved 90,000 rupees last year to visit Sikkim with his family, including his 68-year-old mother and 70-year-old father. He booked a package from Kolkata costing 70,000 for 4 days. He even paid 30,000 as an advance. When he reached Siliguri, he was asked to visit an office where they additionally asked for 15k. It's said that Kolkata's travel agent transferred him to Siliguri's travel agent, and they were trying to transfer him to Sikkim's travel agent at a lower cost. This commission marketing cycle seems to continue.

But over the months, the vehicle rates have also skyrocketed so much that there were not enough, and the hotels and guesthouses are also doing the same in North and East Sikkim, including Gangtok and Lachung. Unfortunately, today, almost half of the quality tourists in the town have dried up, with a lesser crowd compared to last year.

A big question to the Concern Department on delaying the construction of toong Bridge.

The collapse of the Toong Bridge has led to a significant traffic Jam, delaying thr travel to North Sikkim,prompting concerns about the delayed construction of an alternative iron Bailey bridge to facilitate smoother traffic flow.
