We at Wildlife Expeditions India (Formerly Overland Expeditions India) are a small passion-driven team that has been curating bespoke wildlife experiences for more than 15 years now. Our journey started as India’s first company offering authentic overland journeys throughout the Indian subcontinent. Covering areas and destinations that people had not even heard of, we explored the unexplored. Be i

t the Trans-Himalayan expedition or India north to south, the snow leopard quest, or the red panda expeditions, we did it all. In 2020 when COVID hit the world, the travel industry was probably the worst sufferer. Going forward was tough, but we took our inspiration from mother nature, where everything evolves with time. As the industry slowly crawls to normalization, we have resumed operations. Right at the core, we are not agents but professional wildlife guides who are willing to show you simply the best that the wilderness has to offer. We keep the groups small and the experience is never compromised. As a rule of thumb, if we have not been there, we will not take you there. Every single destination that is part of our itineraries, has been explored and understood well. All our tours are led by guides who are knowledgeable, experienced, and super passionate about what they do. The logistics are also planned by the team. Share your dreams and remain assured of an experience that you will remember for life!

Collarwali also know as T15, the famed Bengal tigress of Pench Tiger Reserve, was known for her significant contribution to tiger conservation. Born in 2005, she earned the title “Supermom” by giving birth to 29 cubs across eight litters. Her prolific breeding played a crucial role in boosting the local tiger population. She passed away in January 2022 at the age of 16, leaving behind a lasting legacy in wildlife conservation.

Tiger stripes are unique to each individual tiger, providing effective camouflage in their forest and grassland habitats. These dark vertical stripes on a lighter background help tigers blend into the dappled light, making them less visible to prey and predators. The patterns also aid in identifying individual tigers, crucial for research and conservation. Variations exist among subspecies and color variants, such as the white tiger. The primary evolutionary advantage of stripes is to enhance the tiger's stealth and hunting success.

“A walk in nature walks the sole back home - Mary Davis”

It’s a different kind of peace when you are surrounded by trees, grass, birds, bushes and all things natural. Nature heals not just our bodies, but our souls too. This kind of peace is hard to come by these days, but not completely impossible either. That is because we are lucky enough to have a natural setting like the one in Satpura National Park, where you can truly be in nature.

Black capped langur

The black capped Langur is a forest-dwelling primate native to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Myanmar. Their name is inspired by the dark patch of fur that sits atop their head, resembling a cap. The dorsal side of the body ranges from golden orange to yellow in colour, giving way to a long brown or grey tail.

Took this picture on our birding mix with cultural tour to Bhutan.

Our guest had wonderful and memorable sighting of their life time yesterday morning in kanha national park, where tigress named Mohini carrying her tiny cub probably 15 to 20 days old in her mouth and crossing the road.
She is shifting the place of cub to save them from invaders.

The Indian wild ass, as with most other Asian wild ass subspecies, is quite different from the African wild ass species. The coat is usually sandy, but varies from reddish grey, fawn, to pale chestnut. The animal possesses an erect, dark mane which runs from the back of the head and along the neck. The mane is then followed by a dark brown stripe running along the back, to the root of the tail.

With one of the wonders of the world – The Taj Mahal, towering forts like the Mehrangarh fort, culture rich state of Rajasthan, God's own country – Kerela, foodies paradise of Gujarat, the country realiy has something to suit every taste. Overlanding with us, we assure that the destinations you will reach are a perfect amalgam of the most famous names like Corbett, Ranthambore and lots of offbeat places like the salty vastness of Rann of Kutch, dunes of the Desert national park, Himalayan high altitude parks, remoteness of Leh-Ladakh and some spots where probably no tourist has ever ventured. This concept till now has mainly been dominated by Africa and South America. After gaining the expertise and the experience in Southern Africa, we have now brought this concept of travelling to India.
