২০১৯ সাল ২৫ শে মে (শনিবার ) ছেলের গ্রীস্মকালীন ছুটিতে ঠিক হলো দুই ফ্যামিলি মিলে অফবিট কোনো জায়গা যাবার। দুই ফ্যামিলি বলতে আমার আর আমার দিদির ফ্যামিলি , ছোট-বড় মিলিয়ে সাত জন ( ছোট ৩ জন ) । আমাদের ঠিক হলো সিটং (Sittong) আর চটকপুর (Chatakpur) ভ্ৰমণ করবার, এই জায়গাগুলোতে হোমস্টের চল বেশি আর হোমস্টে মানে প্রকৃতিকে খুব কাছ থেকে উপভোগ করা , এই দুটোই দার্জিলিং জেলায় অধীনে।
সিটং যাবার পথটা প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যে ভরা , রাস্তার বেশিরভাগ টা সিমলা যাবার রাস্তার মতো ঝাউগাছে আচ্ছাদিত। প্রত্যেকটা বাঁকে একটা অন্যরকমের আকর্ষণ আছে , কোনো কোনো বাঁক থেকে পাহাড়ের রানী উঁকিঝুঁকি দিচ্ছে। আর হটাৎ হটাৎ করে পাহাড়ের উচ্চতা বেড়ে যাচ্ছে তাই মেঘের আনাগোনা-টাও এই পথে অনেক বেশি। বর্ষার শুরুতে বলে মেঘের ঘনত্ব অনেকটা বেশি আর চারিদিক সবুজায়নে ভরা । কিছুটা এগোতে শুরু হলো বৃষ্টি , এদিকে অন্য পাহাড় গুলোয় রোদের ঝলকানি দেখতে পাওয়া যাচ্ছিলো। রোদ আর বৃষ্টি দিয়ে আমরা সিটং-এর বিশেষ হোমস্টেতে পৌছালাম দুপুর ১.৩০ নাগাদ। সমুদ্রাপিষ্ট থেকে সিটং এর উচ্চতা মাত্র ৪০০০ ফুট হলেও গাড়ি থেকে নামতেই ঠান্ডাটা বেশ অনুভব করলাম।
