Must Vist this Place
Rosary Church, Hassan, Karnataka
Karnataka is one of the states that is rich of history and historical places in India. But, in the midst of its palaces and temples, this 200 year old Gothic ruin at the banks of river Hemavathi is slowly getting to the curious traveller. The dam on the river submerges the monument every monsoon and it only re- emerges when the water resides in the summer.

Built by French missionaries in the late 1800’s, this is a must go because of its vulnerability. As the waters engulf it year by year, the monument loses/damages some bit of itself. Clearly, the sooner you go the better! :) :)

You will feel like an ant climbing down an anthill when you explore the Rani ki Vav stepwell as it is a massive structure that is around 24 meters deep. One of the most unexplored historical places in India, this stepwell was built in the 11th century AD, as a memoriam for King Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty by his wife Queen Udayamati. The lowest level of the stepwell was earlier used as a route to escape to neighbouring villages.

Interesting fact: The central level has the theme “Dasavatars” which means 10 incarnations of Vishnu, and that when you approach the water level there will be a sculpture of Vishnu reclining on a thousand snake heads.

The Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the Panchmahal district of the Indian state of Gujarat. Centred around the city of Champaner or Muhammadabad built by Sultan Mahmud Begada of Gujarat, it’s a very significant place historically and culturally. This place is the only complete unchanged Islamic pre-Mughal city. Also deemed to be of mythological significance, a larger part of Champaner-Pavagarh is still unexcavated. It includes 11 different types of heritage monuments that are- Mosques, Temples, Tombs, Gateways, Fortresses and walls, Palaces and Pavilion, Helical Wells, Custom house and Greneries all belonging to 16th century. One can observe a transition from the previous Hindu forms of architecture to the Muslim culture and forms of architecture. The park also houses some of the ancient Chalcolithic Indian Sites, from the Stone Age era.

Konark Sun Temple / कोणार्क सूर्य मंदिर 13 वी शताब्दी का सूर्य मंदिर है जो भारत के ओडिशा राज्य के कोणार्क में स्थित है. ऐसा माना जाता है की यह मंदिर पूर्वी गंगा साम्राज्य के महाराजा नरसिंहदेव 1 ने 1250 CE में बनवाया था. यह मंदिर बहोत बडे रथ के आकार में बना हुआ है, जिसमे कीमती धातुओ के पहिये, पिल्लर और दीवारे बनी है. मंदिर का मुख्य भाग आज विनाश की कगार पर है. आज यह मंदिर UNESCO वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज साईट में भी शामिल है और साथ ही यह मंदिर भारत के 7 आश्चर्यो में भी शामिल है. 🌅
