ম্যানগ্রোভের কামান গোলা !

ধুন্দুল : Xylocarpus granatum

সুন্দরবনের পরিচিত ম্যানগ্রোভ গাছগুলির অন্যতম ধুন্ধুল। বিভিন্ন নামে এই গাছ তার রেঞ্জ অঞ্চলে পরিচিত - cannonball mangrove, apple / cedar mangrove, puzzlenut tree। মেহগনি পরিবার ( Meliaceae) অন্তভুক্ত এই প্রজাতি লবণাক্ততার মাপে উচ্চ লবনাক্ত জল সহ্য করতে পারে। ইন্টার - টাইডাল অংশে, অর্থাৎ জোয়ার ভাঁটা খেলে যাওয়া অন্তর্বর্তী স্থানে এদের আধিক্য। উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের মোহনায়, ম্যানগ্রোভ জঙ্গলের নদী, খালের চরের আশেপাশে এই গাছ চোখে পড়ে। খাল, খাঁড়ির গা ঘেঁষে হয়ে থাকা ধুন্দুলের শ্বাসমূল নীচের দিকে চওড়া, ওপরের অংশে সরু হয়ে এসে ছুঁচলো হয়।

রেঞ্জ - ভারত, বাংলাদেশ ছাড়াও দক্ষিণ পূর্ব এশিয়া হয়ে পশ্চিম ইন্ডো - পেসিফিক অঞ্চল জুড়ে তার বিস্তার। অস্ট্রেলিয়া, পূর্ব আফ্রিকা, পেসিফিক দ্বীপপুঞ্জে ধুন্ধুল দেখতে পাওয়া যায়।দক্ষিণ পূর্ব এশিয়ার মালয়শিয়া,থাইল্যান্ড, ইন্দোনেশিয়া,ফিলিপিন্স,উত্তর অস্ট্রেলিয়া,পাপুয়া নিউ গিনি হয়ে আফ্রিকার কেনিয়া,মোজাম্বিক, তানজানিয়া ধুন্দুলের উল্লেখযোগ্য পপুলেশন ধারণ করে।

বিবরণ - মাঝারি উচ্চতার এই গাছ গড়ে দশ মিটার লম্বা অবধি দেখা যায়, সুন্দরবনের অনেক অংশেই যদিও গড় উচ্চতা কম। ঘন সবুজ , সারিবদ্ধ ধুন্ধুল গাছের ফুলের মঞ্জরী চোখে পড়ে না বেশি, তবে এদের পাতার ঘন আবরণে, ডালপালার ঘন বুনোটে ধুন্ধুল ফল দেখে সহজেই এই গাছ চেনা যায়।ধুন্ধুল ফুলের গন্ধ মৃদু, সাদাটে।বসন্ত - গ্রীষ্মকালে এর ফুল ফোটে।

ফুল, ফল ও পাতা - মাঝারি মাপের এই গাছটি উচ্চতায় সুন্দরবনে ছয়- আট মিটার লম্বা হয়। অনেক জঙ্গুলের কাছে জানা যায়, ধুন্ধুলের পাতা হরিণের পছন্দের খাবার।এই গাছের বাকল মসৃণ ও রঙে ঈষৎ হলদে বাদামি। ধুন্দুলের স্টিলট ও বাট্রেস, দুইরকম শেকড় দেখা যায। গাছের গোড়ার মূলগুলি সরু, লম্বা ফালির মতো উঁচু হয়ে উঠে। ধুন্দুলের গুঁড়ির কান্ড শাখাবিহীন হয়। ধুন্দুলের বীজের ভ্রণকাণ্ড মাটি ভেদ করে ওপরে এলেও বীজপত্র মাটির ভেতরে থেকে যায়। এই গাছটি মৃদগত অঙ্কুরোদগমের এক উদাহরণ হিসেবে ধরা যায়।

শক্ত খোলশের গোলাকৃতির ধুন্ধুল ফল রঙে বাদামী হয়। বসন্তে ফুল আসে ধুন্ধুলে, তার কিছু পরেই ফল হয়।
পাকা বাদামী ফল অনেকটা বেলের মতো দেখতে, ওজনে প্রায় ২- ৩ কিলোগ্রাম পর্যন্ত হয়ে থাকে। প্রতি ফলে ৮ থেকে ১০টি কোণাকৃতির বীজ থাকে। এই বীজগুলির গড়ন irregular আকারে, ফলে তা থেকেই ধাঁধা বা puzzle এর নামকরণের যোগ। puzzlenut tree নামটির পেছনে কারণ বীজের বিন্যাস। গ্রীষ্মের শেষ , বর্ষার শুরুতে এই ফল দেখা যায়।

ধুন্ধুল গাছের পাতার ওপরের অংশ ঘন সবুজ ও নীচের অংশ হালকা সবুজ। পাতাগুলো যৌগিক এবং দুই থেকে ছয়টি পত্রকে বিভক্ত। পত্রকগুলো দৈর্ঘ্যে প্রায় ১২ সেন্টিমিটার অবধি ও প্রস্থে ৬ সেন্টিমিটার অবধি দেখা যায়। পাতার শীর্ষভাগ গোলাকৃতির হয়ে থাকে।

ধুন্দুলের ব্যবহার - হালকা লাল রঙের কাঠ ধুন্ধুলের।নৌকা বানানোর কাজে মাঝিরা ধুন্ধুল কাঠ , বা তার নিকট আত্মীয় পশুর কাঠ ব্যবহার করে থাকেন। এছাড়া আসবাবপত্রের কাঠ হিসেবেও ধুন্ধুল কাঠ অত্যন্ত জনপ্রিয়। ধুন্দুলের কাঠ তাই সুন্দরবনের অন্যতম মূল্যবান কাঠ। যন্ত্রপাতির হাতলে, দৈনন্দিন কাজের সামগ্রীতেও এই কাঠের প্রচলন আছে। প্রসাধন ইন্ডাস্ট্রিতেও ধুন্দুলের ব্যবহার আছে।জ্বালানি প্রয়োজনে, চারকোল উৎপাদনেও এই গাছ ব্যবহার করা হয়।

ধুদুলের ঔষধি গুণ - এর ফল।ও বীজ বিভিন্ন প্রথাগত চিকিৎসায় ব্যবহার হয়। জ্বর, থ্রাশ, কলেরা, ডিসেন্ট্রি, পেটের সমস্যা নিরাময়ে ধুন্দুলের ব্যবহার দেখা যায়। এই গাছের গায়ের বাকল ট্যানিন- সমৃদ্ধ হয় ও দড়ি বানানো, কাপড়ের ডাই তে ব্যবহার হয়। বীজ থেকে প্রাপ্ত তেল মাথার তেল হিসেবে ব্যবহার হয় ও প্রসাধনী ইন্ডাস্ট্রিতেও তার চল আছে।

সুন্দরবন ও ধুন্দুল - সুন্দরবনের বিভিন্ন অংশে এই প্রজাতি দেখতে পাওয়া যায়, জঙ্গলে ঘোরার সূত্রে সুন্দরবনের প্রত্যেকটি অংশেই তাদের সন্ধান পেয়েছি।ফুল সহজে চোখে পড়ে না, তবে এর ফল এই গাছের বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্য - খুব সহজেই তা দূর থেকে দেখা যায়। কাঠ কাটার বৈধতা অবধি এই গাছের কাঠ অত্যন্ত মূল্যবান হিসেবে গণ্য করা হতো।
বাংলাদেশ সুন্দরবনের বিভিন্ন রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী বেশ কিছু জায়গায় এই গাছ আগের থেকে কম চোখে পড়ে।সম্ভবত ২০১২ - ১৭ সময়কালে এই প্রজাতির একটি রিজেনারেশন প্রকল্প চালু করা হয় তাদের সংখ্যাবৃদ্ধির প্রয়োজনে।


ইকোসিস্টেমে ধুন্দুলের গুরুত্ব - বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির পাখি, মাছ ও অন্য ক্ষুদ্র প্রাণের খাদ্য, বাসস্থান যোগায় এই ম্যানগ্রোভ প্রজাতি। ধুন্দুলের রুট সিস্টেম ভূমিক্ষয় রোধ করে ও উপকূলের স্বাস্থ্য বা শোরলাইনের স্বাস্থ্যের জন্য জরুরি। এই গাছের শেকড় সেডিমেন্ট আটকায় ও দূষণকারী পলিউট্যান্ট ফিল্টার করে, ফলে জলের স্বাস্থ্যের উন্নতি ঘটায়।

সংরক্ষণ স্টেটাস - IUCN তালিকায় ' least concern ' অন্তর্ভুক্ত এই প্রজাতি। একটা সময়ে কাঠের জন্য তার চাহিদা প্রবল ছিলো, ফলে নির্বিচারে এই গাছ কাটা হয়েছে। উপকুল অঞ্চলে বাস্তুতন্ত্রের ওপর মানুষের চাপ, উন্নয়নের চাপ, মাছ ও অন্য জলজ প্রজাতি আহরণ ও চাষের চাপ, সমুদ্রের জলস্তর বৃদ্ধি, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন ইত্যাদি কারণগুলির জন্য পৃথিবীর ম্যানগ্রোভ হ্যাবিট্যাট যে সমস্ত কারণে সঙ্কটে, ঠিক সেই সকল কারণের জন্য এই প্রজাতিও আক্রান্ত।

সুন্দরবন বসন্ত উৎসবে March - 22 to 24 and 24 to 26

প্রথম দিনের ভ্রমণ:- সোনাখালি থেকে লঞ্চ ছেড়ে গোসাবা, হ্যামিল্টন বাংলো ,রবীন্দ্রনাথ টেগোর বাংলো, পাখির জঙ্গল এবং পাখিরালয় (রাত্রি বাস)
দ্বিতীয় দিন:-
সকালে সজনেখালি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার, সেখান থেকে পারমিশন করে সজনেখালি ঘুরে ওয়াচ টাওয়ার দেখে আবার বোটে ওঠা,এরপর সুধন্যখালি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার পীর খালি, গাজিখালি ,চোরাগাজীখালি, দোবাঁকি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার ঘুরে আবার পাখিরালায় (রাত্রি বাস)
তৃতীয় দিন :- সকালে লঞ্চ ছেড়ে গঙ্গাসাগর মোহনা, পঞ্চমুখানী,ঝড়খালি (টাইগার রেসকিউ সেন্টার এখানে ৩০/টাকা টিকিট মাত্র) ঘুরে হেরোভাংগা, পার্শ্বেমারী, সাইটসিন করে ব্যাক । তিন দিনের ভ্রমণের সমাপ্তি

দ্বিতীয় দিন --
ভোরে চা বিস্কুট ৯টা - রাধাবল্লভী, আলুর দম, মিষ্টি। ১১টা -ভেজ পকোড়া চা ১টায়- ভাত ,ডাল, ভাজা, সবজি, মাছের কারি, বাগদা চিংড়ি মালাইকারি চাটনি, পাপড় । ৩টায়- ফল ৪টায় -চা। ৬টায়-চাউমিন আর চা . রাত্রে -ফ্রাইড রাইস, চিলি চিকেন, স্যালাড, চাটনি, পাপড় , ।
তৃতীয় দিন --
ভোরে চা কফি বিস্কুট। ৯টায়- কড়াইশুঁটির কচুরি, ছোলার ডাল ,মিষ্টি । ১১টা-আমোদি মাছ ভাজা, চা ১টায়-ভাত ,ডাল, ভাজা, সবজি, মাছের কারি, কাঁকরা কারি ,চাটনি, পাপড়। ৩টায়- ফল

Enjoying a magical sunrise we will reach our destination Sajnekhali, Sudhannya khali,Banabibi Bharani, Pirkhali, Gajikhali,Nabanki,Dobanki and meandering through the river we will reach Pakhiralay Hotel, where we will stay for the night.

We will visit Sagorer Mohona,Bidya River then we will visit Jharkhali from there straight to Sonakhali Launch Ghat carrying with us the sweetest memories of Sunderban.

We will visit Sagorer Mohona,Bidya River then we will visit Jharkhali from there straight to Sonakhali Launch Ghat carrying with us the sweetest memories of Sunderban.

Please just watch the video once if you like it then only share it with your friends. I captured and made this video by myself walking throughout Kolkata alone, if you like it just comment your views it will inspire me to make more videos like it.

Frankly speaking I made this and every video's for my Mom and Dad as they can't visit Kolkata or other places to see Pandels and do Puja Parikrama. I think my video will also help elderly people who can't visit Kolkata Pandels and can have Puja Parikrama and Pandels and Lighting through my eyes. It's just a small prochesta by me
