WALKS IN KOLKATA is an basically an initiative to save and develop awareness on all kinds of heritage. We arrange guided WALKING TOURS in KOLKATA for fellow travelers and explorers. To get the real taste of the city you have to stroll around the narrow lanes and bye lanes of North Kolkata, roam around heritage structures in Esplanade, Park Street, Dalhousie Square etc or see the cultural ethnicit

y and the decaying historical structures. Since we understand that tourism in India unfortunately has not reached grown the way one would have expected. Need for personal guided tour in a chaotic country can not be over emphasized where getting right information is a premium. We will redefine value for money (VOM). So far, in India VOM is completely unknown. Calcutta, now Kolkata, was the capital of British India till 1911 when it was shifted to Delhi. The history of Kolkata essentially related to the British, to some extent Mughals and the Nawabs of Lucknow and obviously to the people of Bengal. We essentially provide city walks/ tours ( depending on your preference/ choice) to help fellow tourists here. Heritage walks- walk and see the heritage structures in Dalhousie Square and Esplanade. Usually a half day/ 3-4 hours tour by walking- highly recommended.

2. Religious walks- there are three types of religious tours here in the city of Kolkata. (a) Temples-
The Kalighat temple- Swami Vivekanandas ancestral home in Simla of North Kolkata- Dakshineshwara temple- Belur math. (b) Churches, Synagogue & Mosques, Mother Terresa's home in Sialdah, Churches including St John's Church, Synagogue in Dalhousie Square, Tipu Sultan Mosque etc.

3. Black/ Native Kolkata tour and around - the hidden treasures of Kolkata with amazing history and anecdotes.

4.Cultural tours & around- Kolkata is the cultural capital of India. There are numerous art galleries and everyday there are numerous dances, musical, theatrical, art & cultural programmes taking place- which are not always published in the local newspapers. We will guide you for a few hours in this places.

5. Anglo- Indian tour- there are places in Kolkata where even today there is thriving Anglo Indian community.

6. Eco walks- Spend a full day in Botanical Garden, Maidan, Butterfly Park, Bird sanctuary, beautiful lakes/ water bodies.

7. Haunted House tour- Different haunted houses are still here in Kolkata. We shall take you there not always inside but around the buildings. A unique tour.

8. Photowalks- The city is a photographer's paradise. Must grab an opportunity to shoot through the narrow lanes and bye lanes, flower market. Take a country boat trip on Ganga- the river passing through the city or walk around the British- Roman- Greek architectures that are still exists. You will get an amazing variety of subjects being a photographer, no matter if you are a professional or an amateur.

9. Foodwalks- Street foods (Kolkata is often called the street food capital of India) authentic Bengali cuisine (Lunch/ Diner) in Bengali style- Kolkata's years old Chinese cuisines which includes Chinese breakfast. Incidentally Kolkata has the only China town in India.

10. Mix and match- Customized as per your choices from the above.

Peter Soer from Newzealand recently visited Kolkata. He is an avid traveller having travelled 95 countries till now.
We had an opportunity to help him enjoy a day at , Newtown. We arranged to book a cottage inside the big park for him.
At the end of the trip Peter told a few words about our humble service. It was a great honour for us to help him exploring the city.
