We left Nubra after a hearty breakfast and made our way out towards Pangong Tso. Roadworks slowed us down but with vistas like the Nubra valley to stare into no one really has any complaints. What we didn’t realise was it was going to be a mad brilliant day full of sand and water crossings.
The hearty breakfast served us well as the crew worked their way through all sorts of fun bits the mountains had planned for us. Then came the water crossings one more fun than the next.
Sitting by the campfire that evening at Pangong Tso everyone had a broad smile plastered across their faces while they tried their best to keep their eyes open.

The ride begins with us reaching Khardungla for the must have image of the crew crossing over towards Nubra.
The roads from North Pull-ups onwards are a breeze to ride. What used to be a hard and tough days journey has become much easier. Giving you so much more time to enjoy the ride and the vistas you are riding through.
A quick 15 min ride on the bactrian camels ended the first days ride from Leh to Nubra.

Shakedown day in and around Leh for the Brazilians. We rode out to Stok to the Buddha statue to get the crew into the India vibe, used to the Himalayans and more over an Introduction to riding on Indian roads.

Just a set of random nine images of from Mustang Valley and the ancient walled city of Lo Manthang. We are leaving Pokhara April 15th so there is still time to fill one of the empty spots on the Helmet Stories Barebones ride to Lo Manthang.

It’s been a long long time since we posted here on the page but as the riding season is starting up we figured no better way than to start with a ride to Mustang.

So and were planning to head to Mustang in April and figured why not put together a basic as low cost as possible one off ride to Upper Mustang. Many years ago (2014) we did one to Leh and we called it the Bare-bones Ride to Ladakh. So we figured nine years later we were due for doing another one.

What’s covered in this ride? As the name suggests only the basic essentials. Hotels (the usual ones the Helmet Stories crew like to stay at) but twin sharing, one back up vehicle, mechanic, permits (the 500 usd one too) and breakfast. Just the basics

What’s not covered in the cost but you get anyway is the Helmet Stories crew and travelling the Helmet Stories way.

This is a one off ride by us starting in Pokhara and ending in Pokhara. So whoever is Interested we can send you the PDF (all pages we have have included here) but easier to gaze and ponder over a PDF so we shall do that.

Don’t wait too long cause Harsh and Vir will be on the road to Pokhara by April 12th.
