DID YOU KNOW?

St. Thomas Cathedral became the spot that would define Churchgate. Before the walls of the Bombay Fort were torn down in 1862, to make way for the city's expansion, a straight road from the railway station led to the Cathedral, literally through the church's gate. Today, Flora Fountain stands where the gate once used to be.
