Our Story
Kalapravasi Heritage Tour aims to recreate the bond that was inherent in ancient and medieval India between kala and rasika/ art experience. Art was then living, not something to do in spare time and thus monuments are mirrors to civilizations, the people. We have been treating our own histories as exotic, rather we need to relive the spaces. We trace our paths in history to reach where we stand today. We wish to generate immense pride and love for the rich history and heritage of our country with appropriate knowledge and sense of aesthetics. This is a small attempt to take us back to whom we were and still hold roots in.
Initiative is begun by Snehal Tambulwadikar-Khedkar, A Freelance art writer, an Art critic and Art historian. She has completed her Graduation Diploma in Painting, BA English literature and MVA Art history. She has a number of publications, and has worked with partial editing of Jataka tales with Prof. Rajesh Singh in his Ajanta books. She has curated a number of shows and works on a curatorial initiative 'Design Nonstop D'tour in Nashik, Maharashtra. Snehal Tambulwadikar-Khedkar, is currently working as a Visiting Faculty of Art History and Aesthetics at J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai, and as a Program Coordinator at Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, Mumbai.
