It was narrated from Jubair bin Nufair (RA) that a man asked Aishah (RA) about fasting and she said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to fast all of Shaban, and he made sure to fast on Mondays and Thursdays."

Today is the day of Aa’shura, the 10th of Muharram 1445

The day Allah granted victory to Prophet Musa (Peace be upon Him) and his companions. The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him) observed this victory by fasting, but as the Jews observed the fasting as well to mark the victory the Prophet instructed believers to fast an extra day preferably the 9th of Muharram to differentiate from the people of the Book
