The Himalayas : Many of us travel very often to the Himalayas, as trekkers, photographers or tourists. What I noticed is that we have very less information available about the Himalayas and its peaks, whether online or in books. Sometimes we even get incorrect information from tourist guides and locals. To have a better understanding of the various peaks in the Himalayan Ranges, a small attempt from my side is depicted in this photograph where I have tried to identify all the peaks which I could possibly capture in a single frame of my camera using a 60mm wide angle lens.
I was not carrying my anemometer to measure the wind speed, but it was very windy to take out my tent. While photographing the alleviation level was 2425mt above the sea level (almost 8000 ft). I was also warned by the locals that during the night time this place become very windy. Since camping was not possible, I decided to start my climb early in the morning to reach the peak before sunrise. My climb was even more challenging due to time constraints, heavy camera bag, no proper track, not even footprints to guide me or bushes to grab for support.
When questioned by youngsters, I always say that right knowledge and strong determination drives me to climb and capture these views. Place: Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand Note : The small font size used to mark the names of the peaks is primarily to maintain the beauty of the photograph. Please zoom in and read, if required.
