Part-1,
Wandering Goats team successfully completed the most awaited snow trek to the magical Kedarkantha around the Swargarohini range.

As you can see from the pictures, it is one of the most beautiful creations of nature. Goats enjoyed every inch of the trek.

The thing that pulled Nomads to trek to Kedarkantha peak is the deep-rooted mythology that makes this trek extremely mysterious and revered. Kedarkantha is also called "Kedar Khand" which loosely translates to "Section of Lord Shiva", which also happens to be a historic name in the local community. The meaning of Kedarkantha however, is Throat of Lord Shiva. The mythology is that Kedarkantha was where Lord Shiva used to meditate before moving to Kedarnath.

The very famous and beautiful Juda Ka Talab is where the water droplets fallen from Lord Shiva's hair turned into a small pond. The sighting of the revered and sacred Swargarohini peak is one of the rewarding attractions of the trek. Swargarohini translates to "Stairway to Heaven" and is the same peak where the Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pandavas along with his dog reached heaven from this godly peak.

Maharashtra is blessed with beautiful forts and an ample number of trekking opportunities. Today, we have the best thrilling experience for you, the Harihar fort trek !

known as Harshagad, is located in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. It is located 40 km away from Nashik city and around 48 km from Igatpuri. This historic Harihar fort is at an elevation of 3676 ft from sea level.

Let us know something interesting about this place. From the base village, the Harihar fort looks like it is located on a rectangular-shaped hill but actually, it is built on a triangular prism of rock.

The Harihar trek is a 2 hour long trek with medium-level difficulty. The difficulty increases in the monsoons. We know that you have been on a lot of trips and treks, but this is different. The major attraction of this place is the iconic steps to the fort. Yes, you read it right. The architecture of the steps is so beautiful that this part of the Harihar trek becomes an unforgettable experience. The steps are vertically inclined at an angle of 80 degrees.

Climbing these stairs is the most thrilling part of the Harihar trek. While climbing, you can witness mesmerizing scenic views. The last 200 steps are the most difficult but exciting ones. If you are scared of heights, then you would probably not want to look behind while climbing. But if you do so, you can see the most magnificent beauty.

When you reach the top of Harihar Gad, you will be astonished to see the scenic views surrounding the fort. Witness the 360 degrees panoramic view of the Sahyadri mountains. Best scenic views of different forts and hills like Bhaskargad, Anjaneri fort, and Utwad fort. A beautiful view of lush green landscapes and an aerial view of Igatpuri village. Admire the idols of Lord Hanuman, Shiva, and Nandi at the top of the hill.

The calm weather and lush green surroundings make this place perfect for all nature lovers. If this place is not on your bucket list, then add it now because this experience is something that you can't miss.

The most beautiful trek to a heavenly place towards majestic Kalu Waterfall - God’s Valley 🌟

Team 'Wandering Goats' successfully completed the trek to one of the most wonderful and iconic waterfall of Maharashtra - Kalu waterfall in the Malshej Ghat / God’s Valley 😊 It was a view with heavenly feeling.

The trek led through many water streams, crossing Kalu river, through lovely green meadows, witnessing numerous butterflies in their nature habitat and admiring nature’s creations with plenty of flora along the way. Also, one could see the view of Malshej Ghat from the waterfall trek route.

The best part of the trek was that it had participants from all age groups - ranging from 8 years kid to 70 years elder. That’s how 'Wandering Goats' makes everything comfortable for all age groups 🤗

Dudhsagar Waterfall trek Wandering goats team successfully completed trek to the most wishlisted waterfall of india- Dudhsagar waterfall

The event started with the train journey. But we made it memorable by playing cards , Antakshari, Dumb charades, and lot more games.

The waterfall trek was obviously the main part of the event. Through the dense forest of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, many water streams, birds chirping, admiring nature and its creations and then reaching at the waterfall point, participants enjoyed every single bit.

The Magical fireflies camping 🌟

Wandering Goats team successfully completed fireflies camping at Bhandardara 🏞

All the participants witnessed the magical lightning of the fireflies 🌟 near the Lake. The view of thousands of fireflies blooming together at the dark night was breathtaking 😍

The camping was done at the backwaters of Bhandardara dam, between the mountain ranges. The cold breeze, amazing sunrise through the hills and it’s reflection in the water made the campsite stay pleasant 🏕

On the day 2, everyone visited the Sandhan Valley, also known as Valley of Shadows. It is the second largest valley in Asia. Participants had an adventurous experience of rappelling and enjoyed the valley visit 🧗🏻‍♀️

We also visited the ancient Amruteshwar temple 🚩. This temple is of Lord Shiva, built in the 12th-13th century.

The whole fireflies camping and rappelling experience was so wonderful that made everyone return to their home with loads of memories and fun 😁

Beyond blessed!!

We often meet new people on trips and treks, bond is created instantly. Each person we meet gives us new perspective and experience. But after the journey it becomes difficult to be in touch.

To cherish all those memories, Wandering Goats team had planned a get together. On a sunny holiday, all members who joined gave us their precious time. First of all thankyou each one of you for taking time out. They all shared their stories and experience with the group, each of them being unique our hearts are melting! Everyone were so excited, the plan for next meetup has already started! 😅

We as a team always feel such meetups are important to stay in touch, to share experiences which helps us to have deeper understanding of our members. It becomes a important aspect while planning our next trips treks for you.

Thank you is not enough to express our happiness and gratitude to each one of you!! ❤️

Wandering Goats team completed Velas Turtle Festival trip, along with Harihareshwar and Shrivardhan 🌴

All the participants enjoyed the amazing hatching process of the baby turtles 🐢 and saw them racing towards the sea 🌊 . The way the little turtles took their first dip in the water body was a delightful scene 😍

The heritage walk to the Bankot fort in the evening, to watch the sunset from the historic fort was an add on to the trip 🥾

People like beaches 🏝 but not the crowded ones. Taking this into account we took participants to a secret beach where everyone enjoyed and played a lot, specially the little ones took their first beach bath 🌊

The next day we visited Harihareshwar temple 🛕, rock garden 🪨 and beach at Harihareshwar , and Shivardhan beach 🌴

The small steps taken by the baby turtles, kokani homestay, kokani food, kokan beaches and ferry ride made the trip memorable and all the participants enjoyed alot

We as Wandering Goats completed successful trek to Pandavgad fort📍

The day started with early morning trek to the lesser known historical Pandavgad fort⛰️. It is the place where Pandavas once leaved.

After the trek we went to worship the Dholya Ganapati in Wai🙏🏻. Dholya means big. It has named so because of its big sculpture.

Then we visited Menavali☘️. It is a well known tourist spot as 1000 Bollywood movies shooting are done here.🎥

We also had a heritage walk at Nana Fadanvis Wada🏰, the historic place from the time of Peshaws.

After that we visited Laxmi-Narsimha temple 🛕 which is known for it's architecture and mainly 'Pushkarni Kamal'

And ended the day with a beautiful sunset and scenic view at the Dhom dam.🌅

Let's celebrate *Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti* in *Asia's second largest valley*

Sandhan valley i.e. valley of Shadows is a beautiful carved valley in magnificent Sayhadri mountain range, which is part of Western Ghats in Maharashtra. Surrounded with mighty and jaw-dropping mountains of Ratangad and Kalsubai, the valley stands at the height of 4255 ft high above sea level, which is the perfect spot for trekking and other adventure activities. The trek goes through 200 ft deep and 2 km long gorge carved by water between the narrow walls. The adventurous part of the trek kicks in when we are left to rappel down the 100 ft rocky patch with the help of experienced guides and equipment. Unlike all treks, we descend down in valley on the first day and climb up the next day. We camp in the valley and while descending.

.
Tikona fort trek is located in the Maval region in Pune, Maharashtra. It is known for it’s pyramidal shape which can be seen from the camping grounds in Pawna. The fort stands tall at 3500 ft. The name Tikona means “triangular”.

History:
Not much is known about who build this fort. A vihara can be found on the fort which estimates the fort to be in existence since the 7-8th century A.D.
In 1585, Malik Ahmad Nizam Shah I conquered the fort and annexed it to the Nizam territory. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj won over the forts of Lohagad, Karnala, Mahuli, Songad, Visapur and Tala in 1657. He successfully conquered the Nizam territory of Konkan and bought it under his rule.
The fort was crucial in for the control of the Pawna-Maval region because of it’s location. Security for the fort was provided by the Deshmukhs from the Maval region. It remained under them for a very log time since 1660.
The local villages and the forts held steady against a tirade of attacks from Jaysingh in 1665. Tikona fort eventually fell into the Mughal when Kubadkhan attacked the region along with Halal Khan and allies. This is documented in the Treaty of Purandar signed on June 1665.
The fort was recaptured by the Marathas from Kubad Khan. Akbar, Aurangzeb’s son was offered a stay on Tikona fort when King Sambhaji met Aurangzeb in 1682. However he preffered Jaitapur due to climatic conditions. The fort eventually fell to the British after a battled between them and the Maratha army in 1818.

How to reach:
One can reach Tikona Peth from Pune or Mumbai if travelling by personal vehicle. If travelling by train, get down at Kamshet, which is two stops ahead of Lonavala. Take an ST (State Transport) bus / shared jeep to Kale colony from the Kamshet railway station.

Any bus bound for Paund or Morsay is convenient for reaching Tikona Peth from Kamshet. From Tikona Peth the fort can be trekked in about 45 minutes.

What to see:
• Chapetdan Maruti
• Satvahan Caves
• View of Pawna Dam, Hadashi Lake & Pawan Mawal
• View of 7 Forts (Tung, Lohagad, Visapur, Morgiri, Rajgad, Torna & Purandar )
