Rest in peace Savita Ma'am, gone at a very young age.

Savita Kanswal, a resident of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand and, a skilled instructor of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering has died during Nim’s Advanced Mountaineering Course in Draupadi’s Danda Peak, after being hit by an Avalanche.

She made a national record and became the first women in India to successfully climb Mount Everest and Mount Makalu within 16 days in May this year.

My deepest sympathy and condolence and more power to the victim's family and the survivors 🙏🏼🙏🏼

If you do not have advance booking of hotels in Kedarnath, then this time you should not visit Kedarnath at all in May and June.
You will not get room at all in Kedarnath.

This time the crowd is also breaking the record. The people who are standing in the back line for darshan felt that they were being left behind. Many people are entering the entrance of the temple without any lines. Police is not looking after any system properly. There is a 10--10 line at the door, there is a lot of pushing. Over there people are not even able to breathe, they are suffocating.

The condition of women is very bad. For those who have brought children, the situation is not favorable at all, on the very first day people started queuing from 12 o'clock in the night. The line was almost till Rudra Point.

On May 5, people left Sonprayag for Gaurikund but did not allow them to go beyond Gaurikund. In Gauri Kund, people did not get rooms after 2 o'clock in the day, while people kept coming till 8 o'clock.
The booking of rooms in Rampur, Sitapur, Sonprayag and Gaurikund is also full till June.

There is also a 1 km long line to go from Gaurikund to Sonprayag during the return journey. There is a jam from Sonprag to Guptkashi.

Carrying a tent is a great solution

The right time to visit Kedarnath will be from September 15 to October till the gates are closed.

Panwali Kantha Trek lies in Garhwal Himalayan region in Uttarakhand and has unmatched meadows and it should be done to explore the unmatched Bugyal (meadows). Panwali Kantha Top’s height is 3500 meters, on this trek you can find varied landscapes and Rich Flora and Fauna gives you the opportunity of spotting different Himalayan animals like Bharal (Blue Goat).

This beautiful place stands in between high snow-covered peaks which together make an excellent sight. On the other hand, the meadows remain covered in snow. So, consequently, it turns out to be the most fantastic summer or winter trek in Uttarakhand. And, also an excellent Skiing destination.With varied landscapes and extreme beauty the views are killer and makes Panwali Kantha a perfect trek. You can see many Himalayan ranges from here some mountains are – Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri Peaks. During the trek you can have glance of Chaukhamba, Kedar Dome, Mt Meru, Neelkanth and more.

The trek to fascinating Kuari pass was popularized after Lord Curzon's expedition in 1905. The trek begins from a place called Ghat. Ghat, located in the pristine valley of Mandakhini, can be reached after a 7-8 hours drive from Rishikesh. From Ghat, one has to trek for about 6-7 hours to reach Ramni from where a further trek of 5-6 hours will lead to Sem Kharak. From here, one descends to a suspension bridge over Birthi Ganga and climbs again to a beautiful village of Pana. This takes another 6 hours or so. Another 7 hours of strenuous trek through virgin forests will lead to a picturesque meadow country of Dhakwani. This is a place situated at the foot of Curzon's Trail. The trek from here to Kuari pass, about 2-3 hours away, is very steep and thus tiring. However, all fatigue and tiredness is forgotten once the charming Kuari pass is finally reached.
