Shimga is one of the famous gala's in maharashtra. it is celbrated on full moon day of Marathi Month of Phalgun which generally comes inside the month march. Dancing with Palkhi is a ritual at the time of Shimga (holi) competition. this is popular in Ratnagiri district of Konkan location and is celebrated by using anybody regardless of age, caste and creed.

Another coastal town, Alibaug is known for its beaches, fort and villas. A weekend getaway for most Mumbaikars, it is a place to unwind and relax. Monsoon may make the beaches inaccessible due to high tide but the beauty of the place is breathtaking in the rains. Sip a hot cuppa as you look at the waves. When here, don’t forget to visit the majestic fort of Murud-Janjira.
You can drive down to Alibaug or take a ferry from Gateway of India, Mumbai. It will take you an hour to reach Alibaug by sea from where you can take a rickshaw to your resort.

Tamas Theertha or the Ladghar beach is one of the most popular beaches in Dapoli. Ladghar beach has granier sand instead of the cement like fine sand one would find at other beaches in Dapoli. Due to the multitude of shades of red and orange a part of the Arabian sea changes into, off the shores at Ladghar during sunset, Ladghar is also known as "Tamas Theertha".
Ladghar extends to its south uninteruppted to the small fishing hamlet of Burundi. Most of the boats which take tourist out in the sea for dolphin sighting comes from Burundi. One can even try parasailing, ATV rides, water boats.
The view of the sunset is picturesque. Since this beach is not yet marred by commercial activities, it makes for a leisure trip.

Historic fort situated on border of Sindhudurg and Kolhapur, near Tillari, Pargad stands as a witness of that golden era and instills a ray of hope and valour in today's youth. These forts played the roll of watch-guards of Maratha Empire. Shivaji’s memorial and temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati Devi stands inside the fort.
Locals say that soliders (Maratha Mawale) used to reside in this fort for nearly 300 years. Their job was to safeguard the fort and surrounding villages. The fort can be trekked from the village of Morle and across Palye located in Dodamarg taluka. Bus service runs from Dodamarg to Morle (18 km) and Dodamarg to Palye (16km). A bus service also runs from Chandagad directly to Pargad.
On this fort, there are 18 wells, Padmawati Pool; three bulwarks, Phadanis, Bhalekar and Mahadeo. Then there are other bulwarks like Zende, Bhade, Malawe, plus strong fortification on east and west sides. There is only one way, made up of rock steps to arrive on the fort.
Tilari dam is another attraction near the fort.

Hedvi Cha Ganpati - 'Dashbhuja Ganapati'. This 'Laxmi – Ganesh Temple' is not only ancient but also rare. This temple may have been erected in the period of Peshwa. The deity has been founded on the top of Mountain. The Ganesh idol has been carved in white stone. Such stones are found in Kashmir region. The specialty of the idol is that this is 3 feet high and it has 10 hands. This majestic idol is on a seat of 2 feet.

This idol is very charming. There is big ceremony of birth of Ganesh from Shukla Chaturthi to Shashthi in Magh. There is procession of Ganesh in chariot.There are no hotels or lodges so tourists have to stay either in Chiplun or in Guhagar to visit this place. Though tourists will not get accommodation and food according to their choice, they can get it from local community. There is one more temple. It is Uma-Maheshwar temple in Bamanhal.

Baman-ghal

This spot is about 3 kms from Dashbhuja temple. Behind Uma-Maheshwara temple if you climb a small slope and reach plateau, you can witness a natural wonder. Here a small gorge, a meter broad and 10 meters long has been naturally formed. At high-tide, sea waves rush into this gorge and collide on rocks and a water column of about 15-20 meters rises from this gorge. Listening the thundering noise of waves colliding on rocks and get a sprinkle shower from the rising water column is an experience to cherish.

It is possible to take Aravli Fata on Mumbai Goa highway to reach here.
