Kandovan Village

If you are a person who wonders how ancient Aryans lived in caves, go no further than "Kandovan"! It is located in the East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. This hive-like village is home to no more than 170 families who still live in the heart of the mountains. It is the only natural cave human habitat in the world. The other two geographically similar locations are Cappadocia in Turkey and Phocas Caves in the U.S., neither of which people actually live in anymore. Kandovan is covered with snow for up to 180 days a year (which means DON'T TAKE THE TOUR IN WINTER!LOL).

one of the most ancient Persian festivals which dates back to Zoroastrian time is Shabeh-Yalda (shabeh-cheleh)
Ancient Persians believed that evil forces were dominant on the longest night of the year and that the next day belonged to the Lord of Wisdom, Ahura Mazda. they also celebrated the birth of Mithra the goddess of light.
Iranian all over the world celebrate this longest night of the year by gathering together in the house of the eldest member of the family (grandparents normally), as arrival of winter and light victory over . they stay up late all eating, drinking and reading Hafez (poetry)

Doogh, perhaps the most confusing taste in Persian cuisine, is a yogurt-based drink served with food. It is either carbonated or still and can be served with dried mint, salt and pepper, or plain. It is sour and to the foreigners' eyes look like milk. Caviar is one of the biggest produces and exports of Iran. It is considered a delicacy all over the world and is eaten as a garnish or spread on toast with lemon and butter. The Caspian sea in the north of Iran is home to Acipenseridae fish which the salt-cured roe is the Caviar and provides 93% of global use. Reopening of British embassy in Iran

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has reopened the UK embassy in Tehran in a symbolic ceremony marking improvement of mutual ties between the two countries.

The British foreign secretary arrived in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Sunday and entered the embassy building immediately after his arrival.

Hammond attended the reopening ceremony shortly afterwards at the embassy’s garden with Ajay Sharma, the new chargé d'affaires who will be Britain's top diplomat in Tehran.

Hammond also raised the UK flag at the garden of the diplomatic residence following four years of severed diplomatic relations.

Hammond's trip is the first visit to Iran by a British foreign secretary since 2003.
