Today 2nd of June we celebrate the fishermansday.

The festival reflects traditional Icelandic culture and the nation’s long-standing dependency on fishing. Fishermen’s Day has been celebrated since 1938. It was originally established to promote solidarity among fishermen and became a legal holiday for Icelandic fishermen in 1987.
