⛪️This unique cloister is located next to the collegiate church, built over the gravesite of Saint Ursus.
The church dates back to early Christian times, with Roman necropolis remains and a 5th-century apse. The cloister itself underwent expansions during the Carolingian era, and the current Romanesque structure was initiated by Bishop Anselmo in the 11th century.

⛪️One of the 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 of the cloister is its captivating 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬. These capitals are intricately carved from white marble and showcase a variety of figures, narrative scenes, and ornamental motifs.

⛪️Many of them are adorned with historical and religious themes, depicting stories from the 𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, as well as the 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐬.

⛪️ The capitals are assigned to a Corinthian capital type, with a stylized abacus flower and a scalloped shape that complements the figures and scenes.

⛪️The south side of the cloister features five capitals representing 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐬, creating a harmonious unity in their formal representation. These prophets are depicted as busts in front of the calathos, holding scrolls in their hands.
