OUR STORY
Gabriella launched Key To Sicily in late 2009 after starting Becchina & Company in 2003 and turning both the family estate beach villa “Zeffiro” and the countryside property “Antica Tenuta dei Principi Pignatelli” aka Tenuta Pignatelli, into hospitality destinations.
A very famous repeat guest (London) in 2007:

Your attention to detail and the care you take of us and our daughter are unique. The authenticity of your intention carries into our Sicilian experience. With you we can truly relax.”
As a founder and managing director, workforce and do-it-all in Becchina & Company until 2012, Gabriella also found time to run the family farm and olive oil production company “Olio Verde” from 2003 to 2010 while staying on as a consultant afterwards. She launched the first Olive Oil Workshops on the island (her renowned “Oil Tour”), readily available to guests who would travel across the island just to experience this, at the family farm, touring the production facilities, oil mill, storage and packaging located in a Medieval castle in the historic center of town, and in English, Italian, French, Spanish and German, and occasionally Swiss German.

COOKBOOK
The main part of KeyToSicily’s core business today are food-related activities, food production (cordials, olive oil, preserves, spices, and more), catering and private chef services. It is therefore only natural that a cookbook should be born of these ongoing experiences. Gabriella’s Sicily Cookbook & Memoir: From the Big Apple to the Big Olive (working title) is in progress, and will not only provide recipes and international shopping tips, educational and training hacks for difficult eaters and children in a picky food phase, but also recount stories and the meeting of people through fifteen years of purveying and giving food and love to customers, visitors, clients, friends, friends of friends who have come Gabriella’s way or stumbled upon her universe in Sicily.
