Villa Vittoria, costruita nel 1465 dall' architetto Andrea Guardi, fu la residenza dei Principato di Piombino di cui, l'ultima, fu la Principessa Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte che ne curò il restauro nel 1805, prima della caduta del fratello Napoleone. Il grande Leonardo da Vinci circondò di mura il giardino e le terrazze di Villa Vittoria nel 1502, quando vi soggiornò come ingegnere militare inviato
da Cesare Borgia. Situata all'interno della “cittadella di Piombino” la villa era parte integrante di un progetto di fortificazioni e difesa della città stessa, progetti tutt’ora conservati presso la Biblioteca Nacional di Madrid. La villa, ricca di storia, oggi è proprietà privata, dagli spalti e dalle sue terrazze si gode una meravigliosa vista su tutto l'arcipelago toscano. Ampie finestre permettono l’entrata naturale della luce e delle prospettive naturali che come sublimi scenografie incorniciano quadri unici e irripetibili, d'una bellezza magica e incantevole. La sua posizione geografica ed urbanistica, magnificamente collegata ai principali raccordi stradali e alla rete ferroviaria nazionale favorisce e invita la visita delle principali città della Toscana o del Lazio. La villa si articola su tre piani caratterizzati da ampie vetrate e finestre che consentono l'accesso agli spalti e alle terrazze sul mare. Le cinque vaste camere, tutte dotate di servizi autonomi, garantiscono un'ospitalità davvero principesca per almeno dieci persone. Il giardino, all'interno delle mura di recinzione progettate dal Grande Leonardo da Vinci, di circa 800 mq si trova di fronte all'ingresso e scendendo una scalinata si raggiunge la parte terrazzata sottostante a picco sul mare. Villa Vittoria, built in 1465 by the architect Andrea Guardi, was the residence of Princess Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte, during the Principality of Lucca and Piombino, who directed its restoration in 1805, before the fall of her brother Napoleon. The great master Leonardo da Vinci surrounded the garden and the terraces of Villa Vittoria with walls in 1502, when he lived there as a military engineer sent by Cesare Borgia. Located within the 'citadel of Piombino', the house was part of a project of fortifications and defence of the city itself, projects which are still preserved in the Biblioteca Nacional in Madrid. The villa, rich in history, is now a private property offering a wonderful view of the sea, with glimpses of the island of Elba, Corsica and part of the Tuscan archipelago and is characterized by long terraces, surronded by the ancient and low wall (cm 80), along the front of the house where guests can dine outdoors whilst admiring the spectacular sunset over the sea. The house has two floors, the ground floor is characterized by large windows that let in natural light, giving the place a warm and friendly atmosphere. The convenience of its location, well connected to major road links and well served by the national railway network, is a major advantage for organizing excursions to the numerous villages in the area or for visiting the major cities of Tuscany and Lazio. Everything enhanced by the excellent food and wine of the traditional Tuscan cuisine with the simple, but intense, unmistakable flavours of the typical dishes of the Etruscan Coast. The entrance to the ground floor opens into an entrance hall leading to a TV room, characterized by large French windows leading out to the terrace overlooking the sea, to the dining area, also with large windows which overlook the inner garden, to the fully-equipped kitchen, to a toilet and laundry room. A staircase leads up to the first floor with the sleeping area composed of two double bedrooms both with ensuite bathroom, one with shower and the other with shower and tub; from these rooms French windows lead out to the terrace with sea view. Also in the sleeping area is a study used for relaxation, a single bedroom with external bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a double bedroom with wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with shower. A small garden, inside the perimeter walls, of about 300 square meters is located opposite the entrance; a flight of steps leads down to the lower part of the terraced garden perched over the sea. The garden is coloured by a variety of plants and flowers and has been made more comfortable and cosy thanks to various structures where guests can sit and relax.
