Aura continue to harp on at the government of jersey suggesting that their •Roadmap to Carbon Neutral• is flawed and they should be looking more at what we can do right now, yet it falls on deaf ears. They listen to “consultants” who sell the dream & hide the real costs.
Let’s just start using less energy by air testing all homes. Providing actual leakage paths, a true audit of a building with tangible results that people can do stuff with.
Yet Jersey still only sample tests on new builds & no “test my home scheme”
I could go on forever. 🎤

AIR TIGHTNESS - BUILDING ENVELOPE

The walls, floors, and roof/ceiling compose the physical shell of the home, also called the building enclosure or building envelope. Within these assemblies are components that comprise the building's thermal envelope (insulation) and air barrier (sometimes referred to as the thermal boundary and pressure boundary). The air barrier layer or layers prevent the unwanted entry of outside air and escape of inside air.
The air barrier can consist of any durable solid material that blocks air flow between conditioned space and unconditioned space. Ensure that a continuous air barrier exists around the entire thermal envelope of the building.
