A beer garden "Biwa Garden" has opened on the rooftop terrace of "Koko Shiga" (Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), an information dissemination base in Shiga Prefecture. 滋賀県の情報発信拠点「ここ滋賀」（東京都中央区日本橋）の屋上テラスで、ビアガーデン「琵琶（びわ）ガーデン」がオープンした。初の試みで、６月中は金曜日限定だが、滑り出しはまずまず。担当者は「日本橋の街並みを一望しながら滋賀の食を楽しんでほしい」とＰＲしている。

今月９日にスタート。１階マーケットで長浜浪漫ビール２本、近江牛コロッケ、近江牛串、赤こんにゃく、ミックスナッツがセットになった「琵琶ガーデンセット」（３千円、６月中は特別価格２５００円）を購入し、屋上テラス（全１６席）で楽しむ。

初日は曇天だったが５組１１人が来店。１６日は好天で４テーブルすべてが満席になったという。

営業時間は午後５時～同８時（ラストオーダー午後７時）。６月中は金曜日限定だが、７月以降は毎日開催を予定しているという。

「ここ滋賀」の光明祐信（こうみょうゆうしん）副所長は、「『ここ滋賀』は東京駅にも近く、東京への旅行や出張の際は、ぜひ、琵琶ガーデンを利用していただきたい」と県民にも呼びかけている。

レアカラーに出合えるかも？ 滋賀の「スイレン展」、１５０種類が見頃を迎える

Water lilies blooming at the botanical garden "Aquatic Botanical Park Mizunomori" (Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture) will begin to bloom, and the "Water Lily Exhibition" will be held from June 6th, when it will be in full bloom.

Located on the shores of Lake Biwa, on the Karasuma Peninsula, this garden gathers a wealth of waterside plants nurtured by the lake. About 150 kinds of water lilies are cultivated in the park, and the exhibition starts after they bloom in late May every year. You can enjoy water lilies at various indoor and outdoor spots, such as the magical “Hanakage no Ike” where flowers float in a pond with a stone bridge, and the “Water lily tank” where you can enjoy the fragrance by bringing your face closer. There is also a chance to see rare flowers that only bloom a few times during the season. The cultivar Wanvisa, which blooms about 10 centimeters in diameter, usually has pink petals with yellow spots, but in rare cases, it is said that flowers with different colors in the center can be seen. Water lilies have a habit of opening in the morning, and depending on the variety, they close in the afternoon, so the best time to visit is in the morning. The exhibition period is from June 6 to 25, but the park is closed on Mondays. Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Entrance fee 300 yen and others.

植物園「水生植物公園みずの森」（滋賀県草津市）で咲くスイレンの開花が始まり、見頃を迎える６月６日より『スイレン展』が開催される。

琵琶湖のほとり・烏丸半島に位置し、湖が育む豊かな水辺の植物を集める同園。園内では１５０種類ものスイレンが栽培されており、毎年５月下旬頃の開花を待って展示がスタートする。

石造りの橋がかかった池に花が浮かぶ幻想的な「花影の池」、顔を近づけて香りを楽しめる「スイレン水槽」など、屋内外のさまざまなスポットでスイレンを堪能できる。

また、シーズン中に数回しか咲かないレアな花が見られるチャンスも。１０センチほどの花を咲かせる品種「ワンビサ」は、通常ピンクの花びらに黄色の班が入るが、まれに中心で色が分かれる花が見られるという。

スイレンは朝に花が開く習性を持ち、品種によっては昼過ぎに閉じてしまうため、来園は午前中がベストだ。会期は６月６～２５日まで、ただし月曜日は休園。時間は朝９時～夕方５時まで。入園料３００円ほか。

ジャイアントストアびわ湖守山で2人がクロスバイクをお借りしました。1泊2日で北湖を回ります。
