Lions are not particularly known for being great swimmers, but they are capable of swimming when necessary. They normally avoid water, preferring to stay on land, but if they need to cross rivers they can swim. Lions swim to reach prey or to escape danger, but it's not a common activity for them.

Girrafes are the only animals born with soft horns called"ossicones",they harden and fuse to the skull. Giraffes walk by moving both legs on one side forward in unison, then moving the legs on the other side. This is called pacing.

Lions stand out as the top predators of giraffes, launching attacks on both the young and the mature. Sadly, more than half of giraffe calves do not make it to adulthood, with lion predation being a major contributor to this high mortality rate.
