Meet Gedion Kyalo Founder Goodrich Foundation

Mr Gedion Kyalo, the Founder of this initiative is an example of a slow learner who took fourteen years instead of eight in Primary school education. Throughout his primary school life, he always emerged last in examinations. He was considered an academic failure by both the teachers' and fellow students. He was stressed, abused, beaten, ignored and isolated. He was referred to as unteachable, untrainable, hard to teach, lazy, slow learner, dayd ream er, stupid and foolish. Some teachers would beat him on his head for not understanding the content being taught and he would nosebleed and even wet himself. One of his teachers once told him, "it was better to lick sugar than have him as his child," and another teacher spat on his face. Whilst in Class four, he became rebellious due to the pressure to perform well academically. Currently, he is the Founder and Director of Goodrich Group of Schools, Goodrich Foundation and PY Farm situated in Machakos County. He was nominated and won the world coveted 'Oscars' for the education industry - the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Education Award in Dubai in 2018 - for 'Outstanding Contribution in Education'.
