Known for its striking appearance and towering height, the marabou stork is one of Africa's most iconic birds. Standing up to 5 feet tall with a wingspan of over 10 feet, these scavengers play a crucial role in the ecosystem by cleaning up carcasses and waste.
Fun fact: The marabou stork is sometimes called the "undertaker bird" due to its cloak-like wings and stooped posture when walking. Though not the prettiest, they are essential to nature's cleanup crew!
