Lewa has been inducted into the prestigious World Network of Biosphere Reserves. We are part of the Mount Kenya-Lewa Biosphere Reserve, which encompasses Mount Kenya, Lewa, and the Ngare Ndare Forest.

What does this honour by UNESCO mean? It recognises regions that have shown commitment to creating an environment where both people and nature can thrive in harmony.

This distinction reflects our commitment to integrating conservation with sustainable economic development while promoting growth through research, monitoring, education, and training.
