BLUE SAFARI;
Schedule all day
Departure in the morning around 08:00,
The driver and I will pick you up from your hotel/private home, around 9:00am we arrive at Watamu Marine Park, make sure your marine park fees are paid, then you will board a motorized glass boat with two decorations, then you can lie on the upper deck and bask in the sun or just relax on the lower deck and enjoy the underwater life during the boat cruise to Watamu National Marine Park, the excursion will start with dolphin watching where the captain of the boat will take you to hot spots where according to his experience you will be able to see and swim with dolphins, once the dolphins stop moving you can put on your snorkel gear (which is provided on board) and jump into the 'ocean so you can approach the sea sweet creatures, after enjoying, once again board the glass bottom boat and proceed to the marine park, the pristine white sand beaches and coral reef protected lagoon border the Watamu National Marine Park and Reserves which are the oldest in East Africa and covers over 229 sq km. it is one of the best kept secrets in the world with only the Great Barrier Reef itself having a larger species roster and just in a much larger expanse. The Watamu Marine Protected Area is also internationally recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This means that the area is designated as a Site of Natural Excellence and should demonstrate how local people and the environment can coexist through careful stewardship of our natural marine resources and human heritage. The Park and Marine Reserves are renowned worldwide for their natural beauty and boast abundant marine life. It is virtually impossible to snorkel without seeing at least a few dozen species within the main reef, divers outside the margins have an excellent chance of spotting the magnificent whale shark and manta rays which are seasonal visitors, November months is the best month to spot these animals. The Park is home to three species of sea turtles which also nest on the beaches of the Marine Park. The park and its coral gardens are one of the main justifications for visiting Watamu. Some of the more commonly seen fish include parrotfish whose digestion of coral reefs over the millennia has resulted in the same white sand beach. Angelfish, grouper, filefish, lionfish and snapper are some of the species easily seen within this area. One of the best routes the captain will take on this exploration is a gentle cruise to the pantry at Turtle Bay. between the two rocky islands directly south of KWS Blue Bay HQ as the glass boat floats gently on the eroded coral ledges. At approximately 100 meters the boat will turn right and follow the grassy edge along its contour line. After about 100 meters you'll find The Larder on your left, a series of six large coral heads which are home to hundreds of Sweets, Snapper and Boarfish, you will also see Lionfish and Crocodiles. Another bonus here are the large barracudas which roam near the seabed in large groups, they are nocturnal feeders and sleep during the day so are easy to approach. There is an outstanding coastline. Watamu is voted one of the top ten beaches in the world, rich in natural fauna and flora and with three stunningly beautiful g bay, Watamu, Blue Lagoon and Turtle Bay. Here you will also enter the ocean for snorkeling and shallow dive in the ocean floor to see the magnificent coral caves hidden under the blue water, you will have a chance to swim and touch hundreds of schools of fish and turtles. After snorkelling next stop will be at white sand beach with crystal clear water where you will be allowed to get off the boat for a swim in this magical water for a while before returning to the boat and sail to waka waka island while enjoying the lush mangroves along the creek side. At around 13:00 we will arrive at waka waka island where you will receive a warm welcome to the island followed by some entertainment by the natives. The captain and crew will immediately start preparing where to grill and serve fresh and delicious seafood with varieties like lobster, octopus, kingfish, barracuda and crab etc, (chicken will be available for non-seafood eaters).Af a lunch there is always a lot of things you can do, you can choose to take a canoe ride in the mangrove forest of the island with a guide and learn some history of the island and the creatures found there, for those who will choose to stay on the island can take the opportunity to swim off the shores of the island or just frolic in the sun and take pictures, take time to capture their last moments on the sandy beaches, 4.30pm is time for board the boat and return to the mainland where your driver will be waiting to take you back to your desired hotel/private homes/drop-off point in time for dinner.
