atik and optional beach break to Cockleshell Beach. Your English speaking shore excursion guide will pick you up right outside the cruise terminal. A comfortable vehicle will take you on a 20-minute ride to the Romney Manor property where the hiking excursion begins. The hike in total is about 1 mile so parents must gauge their children's ability and attention span accordingly. Romney Manor has many attractions, a beautiful well-kept garden, an old sugar cane distillery ruins and of course, the workshop of Caribelle Batik company. You will have time to watch the artisans hand painting their designs and dyeing the fabric to create their unique and characteristic style. After a look through the Caribelle Batik shop, you will continue your journey to the rain forest. The trails are shaded by the trees canopies, so it keeps a very nice temperature for the walking. The trails are smooth but are at an incline as they wind up the mountainside. Your knowledgeable guide will show you the plants that have a use for humans, either medicinal or in the local cuisine. Some tropical fruits like bananas and pineapples also grows wild in the jungle. The hike will take you next to a beautiful waterfall, stop and enjoy to be surrounded by the lush nature. Bring you camera with you it is possible to observe the vervet monkey hanging in the trees. Sit back, enjoy the provided bottled water and light snack next to the waterfall - guests will not be swimming at the falls. When the hiking end you can be transported back to your cruise ship pier or to Cockleshell Beach for as long as you want to stay, your operator will take you back to the terminal at the end of your beach break.
