Surfing lessons at one of Korea’s premier beaches: Jungmun Saekdal Beach! Yesterday along Jeju Island’s south coast it was sunny and warm. We took a walk along one of Jeju Island’s famed surfing beaches called Jungmun Saekdal (www.visitjeju.net/u/6gd) and spotted some lucky surfing students. The waves were very manageable as they practised in their wetsuits (which they needed in the cold autumn sea). [Jeju Today] A volcanic cone with a spectacular Seogwipo view: Gogeunsan Gogeunsan Mountain is an easy drive/climb just north of Seogwipo City. There is ample parking a short walk below the entrance, and after a pleasant peripatetic climb of 854 stairs, you get access to wonderful views of the south coast. More info: www.visitjeju.net/u/6dw Walk along the lip of the volcanic crater and admire its 360 degree views of the south side of the island, the forest cover, pristine crater, and make use of the observation tower and numerous benches to stop and make marvelous memories! There are two high-powered binoculars available to the public as well.
