Sigiri Rock Fort is an ancient stone fort located in the central Matale district of Sri Lanka. It was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD and served as his palace and fortress. The fort is located on a huge rock that rises 200 meters above the surrounding forest. It is famous for its beautiful murals, mirror wall and lion gate. The Sigiri Rock Fort is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in Sri Lanka and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
